No, via the inc. file in blood Money, and probably using the settings file here.

Setting the Pixel Shaders quality down usually means going down from PS2.0 to PS1.3...

The GeForce 5200 is the slowest mainstream card that supports EUIII. The slowest. The only possibly slower ones are from the likes of S3, VIA, etc. which you probably don't even know make modern graphics cards. Or perhaps Intel's integrated efforts. Regardless, the poster who said that its basically a card so that you don't get an ugly error screen is correct. This card is from a very under performing generation (nVidia's 5k generation), so it isn't even the way it is today where the lowest range cards (200-300 suffix) are intended for casual gamers - this card is simply not meant for any gamers at all and is marketed as such as a multimedia and presentation card (the few that are still sold in the bargain bin that is). If the only game you plan on playing is EUIII I guess the best advice is either deal with it or get something ubercheap but better like ATI's 9600 or one of the mentioned newer lowest range cards (on the ATI side there are x300, x1300 while on nVidia's there are 6200 and 7200, 7300). If you plan on even casual gaming (ie not just EUIII) I'd strongly recommend one of the midrange cards (x1600, 7600).

Sorry to be so harsh, but anyone expecting to play a game released today with a nVidia 5k series card is in for a lot of pain and really should just upgrade at this point rather then demand developers take them into consideration. ATI's 9500+ cards are also getting there but can still get by for now with lower resolutions or less complexity (EUIII for example). The 5k cards were never good cards to begin with, and have aged very badly (they were much better performers when games still ran PS 1.3 which the Hitmen hack shows but when they run into a game with only PS2.0 support, like EUIII but also a lot of other games released recently and most if not all in the next year, they simply fall apart performance wise).

Well, thanks very much netko for your response. I'll try to look for those cards, and let's see if I can afford to buy them.

Then, I know I have no right to demand anything to Paradox, actually, I wasn't doing it, but just imagine how I feel about this game. I've been waiting for it a lot of time, believing that this was the best game ever, and when it's released I realize I can't play with it because of hardware requirements. I've bought EU1, EU2, Vicky, CK, HoI2, and they were not the kind of graphical monsters EU3 is supposed to be. I've been too much innocent and uninformed, really, you are right, but of course I was not expecting this so amazingly high curve of requirements. But I'm afraid I'm not the only one that is in this situation, and can't afford to actualize the PC often. I really think Paradox is still being the BEST in strategy games, but unfortunately they caught me unprepared.
