You would think that getting pissed on would be reason enough to be pissed off! No! After getting pissed on the pissor continues to piss the pissee off. I'm the pissee playing Hungary and I'm at war with Turkey and some of the other smaller nations that surround the area. One of the smaller countries started the war. That in itself lets me know it won't last too long. So instead of putting my 100+ cannons into two different provinces for an attack I go for just one province to make it quick. Of course I'm sending infantry in too. The province I'm going for is Wallachia. Wallachia is a single province nation which is more likely to have much more ducats saved up than Turkey. Also if I only take one province from Turkey there won't be much to put on the peace table. Everythings going great, the attrition I'm suffering is minor. The bar at the bottom goes from green to yellow. Great! I made a crack in their defense. The bar goes from yellow to red. Thats right! Not yellow to orange but yellow to red. "Any minute now" I say to myself". Then I notice them. Poland has its army headed my way. There's nothing I can do! Poland's contingent arrives and to make matters worse they start an assault! The seige was going to be a success, it was in the bag, there was no need to add more troops let alone waste troops in an assault. I watch our troop size diminish to just a fraction of its original dimension. You readers might be saying "I know exactly how you feel!" But it gets worse. After Wallachia is taken over Poland gets control of her. Poland must have had a higher ranking leader than I did. It continues to get worse. Poland immediately makes peace with Wallachia. Just Poland and Wallachia! The selfish bastard! 250 ducats! My 250 ducats! My 100+ cannons are now something like 42 cannons. No more infantry in Wallachia, completely wiped out. The cannons are walking away. I have to start the seige over.

I have a number of complaints about how the AI participates in the game, the only one I can think of right at this moment is how your allies will "dog pile" on top of you when you already are at the limit of what the province can maintain. Oh there are other I know of, but this one right now is blotting out the others. So I'll ask you fellow forum readers to list whatever complaints you have about the AI's behavior......or any complaints you might have about the game in general. Heck.....just list any complaint you have about anything whatsoever so the moderator can join in with a complaint of his own.:)

HAHAHAHAHA!!! You are neither the first person this has happened to, nor will you be the last. Here is a piece of advice when waging war. Don't call on your allies unless it is absolutely necessary to avoid a total defeat. Even if you have to wage a losing war for a year, its always better to fight alone, where at least you control the forces engaged than to rely on an ally, which in times like the one you described is worse than your enemy.

Sometimes when I am at war and calling on allies for help, if they do something completely counterintuitive and destructive to me, I will hit F12, and type in richelieu and take control of their armies and fight for them. This is cheating in the extreme, but hey, its only a game.

In my Russian campaign, I'm determined to keep Bohemia in the alliance for no other reason than that Poland loves to seige Moravia. While at peace, the Poles keep all their biggest armies and best leaders on my border, then they declare against me, but when Bohemia comes to my aid, all those armies abandon my border to head there.:D

Of course, when I make peace with Poland and Bohemia gets nothing, I can still rationalize that I'm doing them a favor, letting them get that province back:rolleyes: .

It happens in EU2 I've found. The most annoying time is when you play Portugl in the GC. You take over Tangiers and then go for Fez. You almost have Fez and then Morocco comes and takes it in the last month. They take Tangiers and vassalize Fez while you are left to start the seige again.

Often you lose so many trops thought that you may not be able to.

I hate that. Just when you're about to impose peace on your neighbors, they bring in another neighbor to the war and royally screw everything up.

It works both ways. Try putting your general in charge of 5000 cavalry, and then race around to "assist" your allies finish off their seiges, while keeping you infantry and cannon safe for a rainy day.

Ahh, stealing sieges. :) I love doing that. Repays the AI for continually screwing me my stacking my nice little +3 siege force with a 100,000 stack that kills off all my men and guns.
