Pirate (Bug?)

Supposedly, with the newer patches at least, commissioning pirates (letters of marque :D ) gives (a chance of) badboy and gives nearby countries a temporary CB.

Dunno about the badboy, but I never get a CB. I know someone's creating pirates next to my colonies like it's their job and I'd like to find out who! :)

As the only nations that hire privateers are human controlled nations, you will get no CBs like this when playing single player, which it sounds like you are doing.

In MP, keep a close eye on your human opponents BB scores all the time, if you suspect somebody of foul play :D

Yes, at the same place you can see yours. Hover the mouse over the place where it shows your relation with them (and would show your own reputation if you were in the diplomatic sceen for your country).

Thanks for the info Stein. I thought I had tried and found it wasn't shown. I must have looked at the wrong place. I am not sure of which place it is you are describing. I assume it is the diplo screen for that nation about a quarter of a page down?

I will try it tonight! :)

Hover your mouse over the reputation should do the trick as far as I recall

Yes I found it! Thanks! :)

I have never hovered in that are before I believe.

One day one should sit down and hover all over all screens just to see what texts pop up :)

Yeah, I recently found out (actually, read on these boards) that you can hover the mouse over some of the icons in the diplomatic screen (vassalage, marriages, etc.) to see how long they've been in effect.

Still, too bad about the pirate thing. It's funny. All this time I thought that computer players created the pirates in the game. Never occurred to me that they'd just pop up on there own.

BTW, what exactly does "WAD" stand for?

[edit: _their_ own]

Working as Designed. Usually written WaD in shorthand.
