Picture size question

Does the forum resize big pictures itself or does it show them even if they would be like 1600x1600 or something else which is most likely little more than average member's screen is capable of showing without scrolling?

Just asking because I don't want to cause any unnecessary problems by posting too large pictures in AARs but sometimes heavily resizing the images affect the quality, especially if there is a lot of very small detail.

So many different ways to post a pic, I do have thumnails active, but not for linking.
My advice is to try it and see what happens, just adjust it right away if it is no good.

Depends on the upload site, but I've definitely seen giant pictures which didn't get resized by the the forum software, they just go outside the normal borders and you could view them using the browser scrollbars.

For example a photo made in Bremen:



default css limits it to 800px apparently.

I'll do small test here:

Here is an image, my font size test, sized 1584 x 1269

And here the same image but half sized, 792 x 634

They are almost the same size here, it seems that it works as I expected.

Different setting in groups, Does it need changed? or is it fine?

I think its fine, most of the time I resize my pictures smaller before posting there. Sometimes though I might want to show a fine detail that wouldn't be possible in a smaller picture.
