One of the best current threads of this forum, for sure.
Even if i can barely find the easy ones, i am quite happy to follow.
So keep it up please![]()
google really helps.
Capitan O'Brien class submarine
Chilean Navy
basesd on the british Odin class
1. Keep it going. It is interresting to see all these different ships. Even if I don't know most of them, or mix them up with other classes.
2. Whoever posted this picture from Rule the waves. Thanks, got a new exiting game to play.
3. I say a british Parthian-class submarine. The HMS Perseus.
Edit: Had a look at @Sun_Killer O'Brien class. That is the one. I loose.![]()
No worries at all, more ship pictures incoming (and as posted before, if others want to post ship pics as well, go for it - just remember to wait until the previous pic has been guessed, and post ships that would be in HoI4).
Spot on, nice work.
Aye, this one was a bit sneaky - I deliberately picked a ship that was based on a British submarine but wasn't one. The 4.7inch armament in the clue was to help with that a bit, as very few British subs had it (other than HMS Perseus, I'm pretty sure just the Rainbow-class subs had them) - and the Capitan O'Briens do look a lot like the Parthian's - here's HMS Parthian.

Here's this ship for this morning - ships really, as if you get one, you'll probably get the other! A nice easy one to start the day with, the clue is that both of these ships are from the same navy....

HMS Welshman
Edit: And those walls are Malta!
I mostly like this thread because we get to see some really unusual shots of some great ships.
And I just love the warships of the period.
No clues for this one, it's not really difficult to name her so please, there's no need to waste your time, but this is the best picture I've ever seen of this amazing creation.
I really didn't think there were any because of the whole secrecy thing.
Isn’t she fabulous?
OK, so it's been digitally enhanced & coloured, but it's still a beautiful picture.
Famous Picture! Prins Eugen and the Cruiser Leipzig
Porter Class Destroyer US NAvy?She's a beauty alright. Thanks for sharing
.
Aye, didn't think that one would take a long time. Apologies for the rather rough and ready (but necessary) photoshopping on the Eugen's deck.
Here's one that may or may not take a bit longer to guess. This ship took a while to come to fruition, with the navy that wanted a vessel along these lines having to ask the Government for nine years before they got the nod....

I think you are right!CDS Peder Skram, Denmark?
CDS Peder Skram, Denmark?
French plane!Right you are, nice work. That's in 1943, when the Danish scuttled her in an attempt to deny her to the Germans, who'd decided to seize the Danish fleet (or as much as they could get their hands on).
Here's one for this morning, the hull of this vessel was originally planned for a bttleship, but ended up being the basis for an aircraft carrier (sorry about the blurred plane tail, but couldn't make it too easy) ....
