Croiseur Montcalm?

Spot on, nice one . It's the actual Montcalm as well, La Galissonniere class. Admiral Dudley North (who hadn't been a fan of Mers El-Kabir) didn't challenge Montcalm, Gloire and Georges Leygues as they went through Gibraltar (when they were serving as Vichy vessels) and the higher-ups didn't approve.

Here's another class for ye - I know there's two ships in the pic, but unless my eyes deceive me, they're both the same class. If that's not clue enough, I'd be very surprised, not too many places in WW2 you'd find two vessels of this vintage in the same class together...

As I said in the thread, it would not be fair to spam suggestions to the thread, so I'll PM you my last guess instead:

It's the swedish coastal defence battleship HMS Manligheten (the only of the Äran-class to get the bow rebuilt)

Third time's the charm . It is indeed the Manligheten, and no worries at all if you want to make multiple guesses, it's all in good fun, and no-one's keeping score (well, that I'm aware of!)

There are three different classes of ship in this pic, but the one we're looking for is the one in the foreground (although, by all means impress us all with identifying all three ). The clue is that a belligerent nation erroneously claimed to have sunk this ship with a torpedo boat, a claim that turned out to be ridiculously optimistic....

On the other hand the ship furthest away looks a lot like the one in the foreground making me wonder if they both are Cleaveland-class since the Wichita had no sisters...

Not a bad guess - it's a Portland-class in the middle, and Cleveland is indeed the one right at the back . Again, I only know because I can read captions, I'm not too sharp on the US ships.

Right in the first post, that only took eight minutes. My other obscure Yamato shot I was thinking about using (but in the end went for the aerial attack) was (from around the same time - both are during operation Ten-Go):

It is indeed, nice work . It was a big destroyer, and there weren't too many destroyers with 5.5 inch guns on them, and even fewer that had guns larger than 5.5 inches, but in an attempt to segue from one ship class to another, the next mystery class is one of them (from my research so far, there's only one country that built destroyers during the period with guns bigger than 5.5 inches....) - it's a smaller vessel than the Mogador, both in size and displacement, but had bigger guns.

Note - I did a little photoshopping of the last and this pic to remove telltale markings/flags/

You're very close with the second guess - Germany was the country, but the 1934 type had more, smaller guns (five 5 inch).

That's the one - this is a 1936A(Mob), which had a curved funnel cap on the forward funnel, and a twin turret for two of the 5.9's up front - nice work .

OK, this next one I've had to be a bit obscure with, as a full-body shot would make it a tiny bit easy. Had to do a little hunting around to find something appropriate that wasn't an easy giveaway.

Too obscure? OK . Here's the actual shot. The clue is that the damage here didn't occur due to action with the enemy.
