Ok I am new and am starting out as a duke in Ireland as per advice here on this forum. Anyway, my duke is not married and I need to marry him. I press the ambition icon notification on the top of the screen and it takes me to my characters screen as opposed to the intrigue screen like I have seen in let's play videos. Then I do not get an option for get married as one of my ambitions. Can anyone tell me why. I was watching. Lets play tutorial where he was playing a king and when he went to ambitions there was an optIon for get married. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
A recent patch moved the location of the option to chose ambitions. It's now the circular icon on the character screen under your title's coat of arms. If you select the icon it should show the ambitions you can choose. If you do this and it doesn't show the option to select the get married option then I'm not sure what the problem is, you might not meet the requirements of the ambition. According to the wiki page they are:
Over 16 years old
Not a prisoner
Not married or betrothed
Not a priest
Can marry
Not the Pope
Not celibate
Not incapable
Not a eunuch
Not a female over 40

Have you already tried in the character menu on the "ring" icon to press? (Right under the portrait) A new window will open that shows you a table of potential wives.
The Ambitions Button If only for wanting to marry (and allows you a prestige bonus), thus you will not married.

So I would only get the ambition if I want to marry? Because in the first part of game the little icon notification thingie on top of screen comes up and states I am not married. So. As assuming hat it was something that my character wanted. lol I think I fit all the other criteria as per the wiki. I dont understand I and it is probably something real simple. Lol...
It's an easy few prestige or piety; you select the ambition, and then marry who you want and hey presto, ambition fulfilled! and then you can go chose a different ambition, lie amass wealth or become exalted among men.
