The update of Insane Quirks

From top to bottom

Not being ordained does not give you good repute, and hurts chances of rising upward.
In order to rise in the Mormon Church past the base of being a member, you need to have good good learning and/or diplomat stats , "good" traits, and a place where you may have power helps. There will be lowborn with wicked stats occasionally as the Prophet based on the open nature of this system. Not being a member of the priesthood doe not help will with elections for positions but does not prevent succession to secular offices.

Converts have these events fire fast after they join for the first 3.
AARONIC PRIESTHOOD-
The rise is a multi-step process that is complex, there is a failing at certain points.
Title-Requirements-Description
Deacon-Age 12-Helps around the Ward with temporal needs and other duties.
Teacher-Age 14-Teaches and helps the service
Priest-Age 16-Preforms duties of the service and spreading the Aaronic Priesthood
After becoming a Priest, that is the set minimum for rising further upward. If you can't rise further, you reside here at this rank.

Bishop-Bishop, Sovereign Bishop, and Presiding Bishop can only be given to married High Priests or above. Presiding Bishop is appointed by the Ruler of a county or up with the roster provided, the position has no power other than advising and personal service to the ruler.
Bishop is just a regular, while Sovereign Bishop has some authority both have the same

Melchizedek priesthood-
These offices have can be attempted to be reached multiple times with the exception of Prophet.
Elder-18 and up, must be a Priest-
High Priest-Be an Elder- Serves a Bishop or in administrative functions.
Patriarch-Married and High Priest-The overseers and organizers of bishops, its is also attached to a ducal rank for managing Wards and the fiaht in a realm or a soverign duchy. Acts a a Patriarch in a Kingdom, but appointed by the Prophet.
Seventy-Married and Patriarch or High Priest-Missionary duty, has the character going around and doing work for the Apostles
Apostle-Married High Priest and Up- Help run the Church, serve as special members, direct the Patriarchs, and Seventies.
Prophet-Most Senior Apostle- Run the damn church corresponds to a ducal title.
Church positions and titles given if applicable.
Bishops- Baron
Presiding Bishops- Nothing
Sovereign Bishops- Counts
Kingdom Patriarchs- Dukes (no lands but a real title post with history, its ceremonial but does give a ruler certain communications directly to the Prophet)
Sovereign Patriarchs- Dukes (with lands and power)
Prophet- King Ranked with title but cannot be held by a Bishop or Sovereign Bishop or Patriarch or Sovereign Patriarch

They will have events, if in the Melchizedek priesthood beyond confirmation, where conduct can rise the positions. That is really the limit. Not too deep but deeper enough for it to play apart. Melchizedek positions are fired by an event a character starts once eligible and is decided by the Bishop for Elder and High Priest. Patriarch, Seventy, and Apostle by the Prophet and his Apostles, essentially elections in which eligible candidates are voted in.

On Lazy Sons- The son must be not at your court without duty, whether its being a councilor, leading an army, or partaking in some event series. This is rather odd, but is to help curb the Mormons.

Thoughts? This can and should be simplified as much as possible.

Mormons are going to need to be balanced hard as hell. Polygamy is or is not in? Because if it is in, we have to penalize for the extra sons and higher heir chances, or just let that exist CK2 style. Well, let us continue...

I agree. I think they are an interesting religion, but they shouldn't receive anymore attention than the other religions and cultures.

Thats most the issue, as far as the mod is concerned theyre basically a footnote. So complicated potentially-lagmaking auxiliary mechanics ought be avoided. For a ranked priesthood comprising the whole of the nobility, then that could be done with a single maintenance event that checks your education traits against your titles/character flags and changes them without getting carried away with specifics.

Sounds pretty awesome. I can't wait to try. Do you guys have any idea when a working Alpha/Beta will be available?

At the moment i cant work out what the map needs to work with the current update. But anyway im slowly chipping away at the name list. The plainswomen have have eleven names and im trying to find if there exists on the internet a list of kwe. first nation names. Most cultures have no names and 80% of the provinces have no localisation and there are family tree character histories dont for the main east coast kingdoms and the empire but thats about it which goes back to the specifics of a single minor civ not being something to worry about.

As to pieGEEK the barbarians look pretty alright, ive done some fine tuning on the thunderbirds in the groups and titles pages.
If you could abstain from double-posting thatd be great as the quicker the pages turn over the harder it is to cross-reference.
For title history id suggest the mormon kingdom only go back acouple generations. Say the numbering counts from the liberator who drove out the barbarians and reclaimed the holy city or something
690 years of family trees takes ages to write out and run through the numbering quite quick.

Then we simplify it-
Priest- Base Determined If Qualifying- A Basic Character Modifier
High Priest- 2nd Base Determination At Qualifying- A Basic Character Modifier
Bishop and Sovereign Bishop- Appointed from High Priests
Kingdom Patriarch and Sovereign Patriarch- Appointed From High Priests- Kingdom Patriarch has a position similar to the Orthodox Patriarchs of Kingdoms but lesser.
Apostle- Appointed from High Priests- A Basic Character Modifier, Character With the Modifier given at the oldest date is in line for the Prophet's chair. Only 12
Prophet- Head of the Faith-Grants divorces, excommunicates, calls Crusades, etc;receives no money just heads the Church. Has a Kingdom Tiered Title but can't vassalize.

Thoughts?

Are we lacking in Womanly Biblical names?

Again with the double posting. Please edit standing posts rather than follow your own posts with another.
From the list [look up 'List of Book of Mormon people' in wikipedia for the page, it looks like its seriously short on womens names.
Christians take female biblical names from places [ex. Shiloh, Bethany] for girls names for virtues [Hope, Charity, Virginia] so the linked list of mormon places might work. or places in utah. Or just make something up.
And remember the time difference, it excuses and allows for alot, on the east coast ive switched the genders of some names as without the connection theres no reason why a name taken from the bible and applied to women wouldnt be taken from the bible and applied to men in jerusalemite society.
So the same with the mormons ANYTHING can be a name. Maybe the mormons are [or went through] a tremendously patriarchal period and girls all have the same name [we cant do are numbered like romans as CK2 cant do that.] or maybe all girls names are the corruption of the names of birds from some tribal tradition which passed became fashionable by its adoption by the king, or just men are important so get names from the book while girls arent important so get names from the common language [made up future language, i.e. random stuff. One name im considering for the plainsmen i got from an episode of countdown for example.]

OK Update, i think i know whats needed for the map to work. A portage [dotted line between two water provinces] and/or a major river. So you know, soon comes the rolling.

Also, girls names, boom. But first drafts so no worries.

Hey everybody. Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm a Mormon who's spent a considerable amount of time imagining what post-apocalyptic Mormon societies would look like, so any help I could offer in the form of religious or cultural information, or just fluff-writing would be gladly provided.

Whats best is to browse a few pages back from this one and give your thoughts. That would be a big help.

Male Mormon Names done, and what was is the opinion on those Tribals I posted earlier? Thoughts so far on the Mormons on implementation and gameplay? Now on female names, Mormon dynasties of note, and the the history section.

Need some Mormon Dynasties?
Powerful/Notable Families:
Browning (Powerful business family. Gun manufacturing company started by John Browning.)
Huntsman (Powerful business/Political family. One is a billionaire. One is running for President of the US next election who was former governor of Utah and an ambassador to China.)
Marriott (Business Family. Family that owns the Marriott Hotel Chain. Also had members in the Quorum of the Seventy. Which is just below the 12 apostles. Also have a city named after them in Utah.)
Matheson (Powerful political family in Utah.)
Miller (Powerful Business family. Basically owns half the car dealerships in Utah/Idaho/Arizona. Has a huge movie theater chain. Owns several professional sport teams. Owns tons of radio stations and a tv station.)
Romney (Business/Church leader/Political family. Had a member of the family as an apostle. Several family connections to other apostles. Quite a few members have been CEOS of companies or on board of directors. Mitt and his father both were involved in politics.)
Young (Not really any power any longer. They did have quite a few people in high church leadership positions though. But still kinda prestigious to be known as a descendant of Brigham Young. If you have the last name Young tons of Mormons will ask if you are a patrilineal descendant of Brigham Young.)

Still cant convince the map to work.

But on other matters, ive had an idea about how a Caste system might work for the Calians. all calian characters get their mothers education. So if on 16 they get an education trait from a different branch then their mother has the matience event gives them the same numbered education trait from their mothers line.

i.e. your mother is a priest education, you get martial education level 3 it exchanges that for a priest education level 3.

And mother not father so the player can play eugenics and change it rather than be stuck with one education for the whole dynasty. As an excuse in-story go with the you-always-know-the-mother-but-cant-be-sure-about-the-father line. Also ignore the titles for them, its a first draft brainstorm and im not happy with most of it.
A little enough thing so it wouldnt cause any trouble but probably enough to add in another thing to think about to make playing them different.

To those mormon folks, thanks for the name lists.

Kendall? Really? Can we avoid that one solely because it is one of the important dynasties for the Hurrians? Or it would be if I got around to making them...

Post-corruption theyd like not come out sounding like your hurric one if they make it in the final cut at all so no worries. Of course duplicates will be avoided.

On the matter of your hurrics, should they reform? or take advantage of any of the other new TOG changes?
