Thanks for responding so quickly, that makes sense, I imagine something like this is a HUGE project.
Give me the actual province map (not just a mock-up) and I can start working on the other maps. It might take a while, but I can get it done.
I think you need the province, terrain, river and topo maps, and at least one count somewhere. That's what I think anyway.I'm currently working on the maps. All of them that I have are in a workable state right now (except that my working version of topography.bmp is missing Central America. I have a backup, though). I have pseudo-finished versions (meaning that they'll work, but could use some fine-tuning) of provinces.bmp and topography.bmp. Rivers.bmp exists, but it's causing weirdness when loaded. I have an out of date positions.txt, but I also have a generator for it that creates a functional one that I could run on the newer provinces.bmp that I have. I've not started on terrain.bmp yet. I just some trouble in real life, but I was planning on starting work on that after I finished with the names of Central America.
The most up to date provinces.bmp is attached in png form.

EDIT: The problem is mostly that, having never worked on the map files like this before, I'm not sure what the game needs to run. At the very least, the province data has to be changed (both history and in Common) in addition to the map files I already have here.
I don't believe so, no. Check with the maker of "Dawn of Kingdoms". His map starts off with one count and then the game populates the rest.Yeah, but don't you need province history and such?
I'm a linguist, so if y'all need any help designing the languages or making sure the sound changes involved are realistic, just send me a PM.

If you want to help out thatd be great. We still have the central american and caribbean languages to do. maybe some of the south american ones too.
Sure thing.
I'll send you a PM about details.
EDIT: Seems your inbox is full.
I'll answer in more detail later, but yes it is supposed to be a region caught between the Hurrian culture to the west and the Quebecois culture to the east. However, they had originally played a large role in the Hurrian culture until the wars with Quebec when it became more of the March territory.Hey guys! This looks pretty cool. I've tried to read most of the thread, particularly Arcaul's posts on Canada, and Mr. Capitalist's posts on the Hurric Cultures. Being from South-Western Ontario this is of some particular interest to me. An impression I've gotten due to the sort of conflicting zones of interest is that Ontario has been somewhat ignored in so far as detail is concerned. Its possible that I might have missed something and be wrong in this.
Is the intention that the area is supposed to be Judicial in ideation but more Hurric culturally? I've sort of been glancing over the documents you guys have up. Is the previously termed Canadien culture now Konaden?
Maybe I missed this, but I'd be interested in seeing a post or document on the conventions of the Hurric conlang. Also, I'm more than willing to fill some of this stuff in if Mr. Capitalist or Arcaul are otherwise occupied. Not trying to step on any toes though, if everything's already all planned out I'm confident it will be excellent and more than content to leave it in your hands.
I look forward to it!
I realize you guys aren't at this stage yet, but I couldn't resist doing a rough version of a potential county shield for my hometown of London (which I think is county 337, in any case, it's the one whose number isn't in keeping with the surrounding counties).

Currently its not under any threat, theres work going on it, its just slow as its a big task. If you want to do something towards it just ask and we'll check that its not something anyone else has got their name down for and that'd be great.
I am not sure what you mean. The thumb has the same religion as Northern Michigan and the UP because it is religiously close to the raiders from Lake Superior. The culture is the same as the Detroit area. De iure it is part of Ducal Northern Michigan (not the UP) because it creates a balanced Duchy. Kingdom-wise it is part of the Kingdom of Superior, which control the region for a decently long period of time so in-game you can imagine that the provinces because de iure Superior. And at game start the region is a single Duchy, a successor to the Kingdom of Superior. It isn't a single country because of its cultural ties or religion, it is a single country because some warlord holds it together. Why is the Thumb area of Michigan connected to to the rest of Northern Michigan? They're quite different economically and geographically and not to mention an awkward looking province. I'd say give the Thumb to Detroit.
