I also must admit that it's a bit odd for a game called Europa Universalis to have an American on the box-art.

I wouldn't mind it for the loading screen on 2 conditions:
* Loading screens are randomised
* There are a lot *more* loading screens to go around. I didn't see any asian loading screens, for instance?

We're talking 400 very interesting years on this planet, and the only thing they can come up with is some American-nationalistic picture and fighting in the mirror hall in Versailles? More arts, monarchs, science, developments, marriages, crownings, whatevers! Instead of 4 loading screens put in 50

It's called Europa Universalis. And there would never have been a United States of America without a Europe to have birthed it in body, mind, and spirit. There would never have been a George Washington without a Robert Washington (d. 1483) of Tewitfield, Carnforth, Lancashire.

I didn't even notice much of the pics they go by pretty fast.

You must have a much faster computer than myself, because I have PLENTY of time to notice Washington. Infact that's where the loading particularly hangs, right before it loads the provinces.
