Good news, you can still skip religious if you are only worried about converting provinces. The additional missionaries weren't touched, and +2 missionary strength still allows you to convert everything pretty fast.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
But now every country can effectively do that with any tiny bonus, so it's still genericide. The overall game has become more generic and it doing so, the need for the idea to be unique and powerful has gone away. That's the big picture.

At least a chunk of us levying complaints are those who have, in fact, actually played the region and attempted to optimize it. We ask for justification because we have presented our case, numerous times, which is something those we ask have not done. bbqftw's comment is on point, unless you're claiming being the only independent tag you can contact for 60 years is fun.
For Najd, the 5% aspect allowing it to ignore religious made it a fairly unique nation, not unlike the Indian sultanate whopping 50% unity and 3 heathen tolerance or Malayans getting a colonist, or Spain being able to distance claim colonies. The "they don't need this line of thinking" is strange; what country *needs* NIs in the first place?

well doing nothing for so long doesn't it any definition of fun, so I was just wondering what's fun about nothing?

I develop my provinces, I work on religious reformation, I explore and colonize surrounding lands. That's objectively not nothing. If you don't find that something fun then thats fine, but you wanted to know if anybody besides Wiz had fun with Mesoamericans and I answered that. You know there's probably a lot of people out there who would look at all of us playing this game and think "All you're doing is just clicking stuff on a map for hours, how can you possibly find that fun?" We don't need a justification to enjoy this game...we just do. And I don't need a justification to enjoy playing Mesoamericans or enjoy playing Najd more after the conversion rate buff. I just do.

I can come up with any reason I want for enjoying a certain nation and there's really no basis for you to tell me "no thats not fun you can't be having fun with this nation." This is why its really silly to try and base an argument around a claim like "this change made this nation not fun anymore so change it back." Its not fun for YOU, but PI can't just roll back or introduce changes because of YOUR or a few peoples' preference. If you have some special preference for a nation to play a certain way, you can always mod the game or play on an old patch. And if you want to claim that some "majority" of players feel the same way as you, then where's the evidence for that? Do you have some poll of all people who have played EU4 in the last month? Surely you're not just saying "well a lot of people on this forum agree with me so I must have majority support from all the thousands of players on steam..."

... The entire point of the thread flew right over your head. We find it fun because it is unique, not because we dont like religious rebels. I played a huge France last night, french wars of religion are terrible. Because of all these religious rebels instantly flipping my provinces.

Well PI could introduce a nation where every time you perform an action it crashes the game. Or maybe a nation that can never own more than 1 province. That would be pretty unique, would that be fun for you? Maybe it is and I'm OK with that! But you can't expect PI to cater to your specific taste. Make a mod if you want that. But you have no basis to tell me or anybody else that we're somehow wrong for thinking a part of the game you dislike is fun.
Again, people in this topic need to be more respectful of the varied tastes of EU4 players, most of whom are not posting on these forums (probably because of the hostile attitude towards people with different opinions...), and not try to project their own personal tastes onto the rest of the playerbase. I just posted so that PI wouldn't get the impression that everybody was against the Najd nerf, and now I'm being attacked because I supposedly don't have a good enough reason for enjoying the game? Come on...
