Signed. I've had family members come to the US from the EU era till a few weeks back. My own grandparents came from Europe after WW2. Sure alot of people immigrated to the USA, but many also went to other countries as well. If the USA is played right by the player/AI then yes the US should get alot of immigration. But if conditions aren't right, but are better elsewhere, people would be more likely to move where the best opportunities are, wouldn't they?
Also the idea that all life sustanability (I think that's what its called off the top of my head) is 35%. I'd rather see everything in a province be reflected in that number and therefore determine the number of immigrants. If the social/political stats are good, no war, plenty of work for people in factories and laborers, and low taxes, democracy would have like 80% life vs. some run down place with 50% unemployment, which to me would be way below 50%.
And I know from family records alone, most of my family immigrated from 1 european country to another, and it does happen somewhat, it should, again if the province/nation provides the right conditions, attract people to its land. I don't see the need to debate anything, it should be changed from being hard coded, and should be based on decisions that the player makes. Lets face it, a human player of the USA should be smart enough to get uber immigration, don't you think? USA is an easy country to play. Now say... Madagascar, well nothing came easy for them, but maybe by 1990 they're have good immigration if the player took the right steps. Please make it Moddable.
