I would like to see some improvements to Asia, and I would not mind another expansion pack, but:

1) I hate the name "the Asian Dynasties"
2) I wouldn't buy it if it was only focused on East Asia; the rest of Asia would be a must, and other under-focused parts of the game world would be ideal
3) There are other Paradox games I'm hoping to see announcements for like CK2 and perhaps another Rome expansion

I'll sign a petition for another expansion, but not necessarily one for only Asia.

AFAIK Asian Chapters was disaster. And if we will see new expansion, I would love to see improvement in Black Africa, especially I'm interested about Christian Ethiopia and Islamic learning of Timboktoo etc. and in Americas, but I wouldn't like to see expansion which doesn't bring new developement also to Europe.

My experience with Asia is just one Japan game. Just one. Not more, just...one.

I have played as Ottomans (their powerbase is in Asia Minor) and as Mongol Horde (which was before NA), but in EU2 I had really entertaining game as Timurid Empire, so maybe I should try that one now that we have new expansion and all.

The Eurocentrism on these forums is really retarded. The minute you leave Europe the world becomes an ahistorical mess of stupid.

Is it really stupid that people care most about the things which they are familiar with? As European I'm familiar with European history and only Asian nations whose history I know in greater detail are the Turks and the Mongols. Sure I know something also about Arabian and Persian history, but there are whole periods of their history I'm unfamiliar with. I have only sketchy image about Far Eastern history and I can name only few Chinese dynasties or Japanese warlords. And I don't know any Vietnamese or Burmanese rulers (except the modern ones). So excuse us, if we ignorant Europeans and Americans like to play as countries of which we know something about.

Sure I would love to see that all nations are as historical as you can get, but to be honest, I get a lot more kicks from playing as Prussia, Moscow or Papacy than playing as some exotic country I have never visited or read much about.

Sorry but this is a really strange point - one which when used by people who want correctly represented balkans you "Europeans" turn in to be an ignorant, nationalistic and whatnot.. yet here you use it freely to justify your preference to be ignorant and just play with the familiar thing and never care about the rest of the world.

Bravo :D

The Eurocentrism on these forums is really retarded. The minute you leave Europe the world becomes an ahistorical mess of stupid.

And don't give me that one liner about how it is called 'EU'. If Victoria had everywhere but the UK a ahistorical mess would the fact that is was named after a English Queen discourage you from asking for it be to fixed?

But yes, relgion is another area that can be added to. The point of this petition though is to address the HUGE errors made in Asia and the New World. You'd think after 3 expansions they'd have gotten to it...

While I agree with you on the fact that the Asian side is underdone, I don't think it's possible to achieve the same level of historical details that is found in Europe without heavy changes or flavorful additions to the game mechanics - and I mean hard-coded mechanics, like the HRE and Papacy stuff.

Besides, Asia isn't the only part of the world that needs rework, everything out of Europe, from the New World to the muslim states, lacks the different feel it should have. A mere expansion would'nt be enough, unless they put a lot more work in it than in HTTT, IN or NA, which is highly improbable.

Maybe in EU4, for more "Universalis". :D

(I apologize for my approximate English, I'm trying as hard as I can...)

What's so weird about the point? Sure as European I mostly play as European nations, but it shouldn't be used against me and call me "really retarded" because of my preferences. Game has been directed to Western markets and it's only natural that the focus is more Western than in Japanese strategy games.

And if you will read my whole post you'll noticed that while I prefer Europe, I don't oppose developing other parts of the world as long also Europe is developed. There's plenty of inaccuracies in Europe too.

And I haven't said anything about Balkans or it's history, why do you automatically assume that I'm hostile towards Balkans or it's history? (I'm not and I like the region, it's people and it's history. Although I don't usually participate to historical disputes between Balkanese people, because I know that what's official historical truth for Serbian may not be the truth for Kosovar.)

I support another expansion, and believe it should include more historical-flavored events, missions and decisions for as many nations as possible to make countries truly different from each other.

If were really going for another expansion, though, a really improved map, along the looks of "Rome", is also worth considering.

In truth, I find the idea of another expansion unlikely, but Id gladly pay for a big pack of events/missions/decisions as described above, in optional DLC format...

I said it's weird because I've been there trying to justify why they should pay more attention in the balkans (which are grossly represented) using the very same points you mentioned. Everyone plays with what he is most familiar with country, region etc. I agree with that but it's not good enough for most people.

And I'm not turning it into a dispute about the balkans I just used it as an example.

Besides I'm sure people don't want every minor detail about asia being pinpointed they just want a better (at least) general representation of the countries there. Not just some countries thrown around with neglect.

I can agree that if an expansion is purely concentrated on Asia/Africa the interest won't be so high but dismissing the idea just because you don't care about these regions seems wrong to me.

I'm not dismissing the idea completely, but I just don't see completely Asian/non-European expansion as good business decision as general historical expansion to the game. Not especially if it's anything like EU2: Asian Chapters which is actually worse than vanilla EU2.

Never stayed at Eu2 long enough to try that out. How was it worse than vanilla?

I had to study korean culture for around a year and a half at university and it was pretty enlightening and would love to see some familiar dynasties and events in the region if not more.

asia would be nice to see, but ten thousand other things would be too, if there was to be another expansion it ought to be universal, not limited to one area. And the issue with asia is two-fold, one it was western and so none of the concepts that apply to europe can apply to asia too and back again, and secondly all the research paradox has done is for europe, they can make an expansion that changes the mechanics and thats plausible, but for asia?
it would have to cost $80 a copy to pay for all the time and effort in the research of the far-east
better they further refine the mechanics and make everything right in general terms. leave fleshing out for the MM team.

And why hurry for EU4, starting all over a again for a hollow game with unforeseeable faults and issues not fixed until the third expansion. EU3 is almost perfect, if they just slowly keep chipping away it then one day it will be, with EU4 they'll have to start all over again and how would that be a good thing. in the long run yes itll be brilliant but have that be a good half decade atleast from now.
