A few of you guys have commented on the possibility of the game being delayed, if Daniel and Jake were to spend more time on the streams.
I doubt that would be the case. D-day has not been chosen as a release date because Daniel or Jake can't finish their vital work until the day before!
The claim can be easily refuted or confirmed by their boss though I'm sure.
I don't know what Daniel and Jakes work on the project actually entails, but if it is QA then what better way to do the testing than with 1000+ inquisitive, eager, and in more than a few instances I'm sure, very knowledgeable, eyes looking on. Ready to pick up on anything untoward the report it on the forum, where it then gets critiqued in incredible detail as I have seen in many instances already.
I think the most important thing that you guys are not picking up on though, is the incredible marketing potential of these streams.
I for one can verify at least two extra sales that would not have taken place without them.
Stellaris for me, as I have started to watch that stream now because of the WWW one, and I would not have even considered purchasing it had I not watched the streams, as its not a genres I was in interested in before.
HOI4 for my nephew, as I had WWW playing in my kitchen when he popped in for a cup of coffee.
Its not easy to be good in front of a camera, and narrate on what you are dong, as I'm sure a few of the other guys at Paradox will agree. These two young men are naturals.
Paradox have found two very valuable resources here, and I can see them going on to promote other games with interviews and presentations later in their career as well as this one.
I have no idea how much money companies spend on 30 sec advert, but here is the potential to have a two or three hour one completely free of charge (unless you want to factor in Daniel and Jakes wages).
Hell, they could even enable adds on youtube, to make a bit of money to offset their wages, if they felt they really needed to!
The WWW stream has got a following now, and if it were to continue after the release, especially with multi player battles I would still watch it.
Actually, I would probably want to watch it even more, as I would be much more familiar with how it works and a lot more critical of the players actions I'm sure
Don't waste these guys behind a desk, get them out into the public eye
