Personal Union vassal-thingy-question

So I have this game where I've managed to PU France, but since she obviously kept all her vassals I have a few questions...

1: If I open up the diplomacy menu and see what would happen if I go to war with, for example, Armagnac it says that it's "a vassal of France and France will protect them" as usual, but it also says that "France is the vassal of England and England will protect them". Now I'm England so what would happen if I declared war? I assume I wouldn't declare war on myself, but what would France do? I haven't tried this yet seeing as it's an Ironman save and I don't want to go through PU'ing France all over again...

2: What happens `to the vassals when I integrate/inherit France? To my mind they might become my vassals, seeing as I am the overlord of their overlord, but I think I've seen somewhere that they are set loose again, is this the case?

Anyway, my dilemma is basically if I should just wait and inherit/integrate France when the time comes or use the mean time to conquer France's vassals before they are free again, depending on whether or not they become mine after I get France... :unsure:

1. iirc they immediately stop being a vassal of France if you force France to DOW them alongside you

2. if you integrate someone who has vassals of their own, they become your vassals

Chances are, France will annex all its vassals in the 50 years it requires for you to start integrating France anyway.

This is likely to happen, and you'll get any leftover when you integrate France.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion after a while, decided that my energy was probably better spent elsewhere, even with the uncontested claim modifier to my prestige. Thank you guys for answering me :laugh:
