Problem description:
Games periodically freeze for a short amount of time (10 sec to 1 minute). Freezes accompanied with crash_xxxxxxxxxxx.dmp or assert_xxxxxxxxxx.dmp created in /tmp/dumps and line '/home/buildbot/buildslave_steam/steam_rel_client_ubuntu12_linux/build/src/clientdll/baseuser.cpp (472) : Assertion Failed: unreferenced server pipe handle' in steam log

I made some testings and found that freezes occur when:
1) While game shows logos on start just before main menu to appear
2) When logging in to paradox account
3) On map loading
4) After building first road
5) Just before congratulations screen should appear on first 500 citizens
6) When quitting to main menu
7) When quitting to Desktop

Specs:
Linux AzArch 3.18.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Feb 7 08:44:05 CET 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz
8GB RAM

Same for me. The main problem is clearly the process of attaching gdb and dumping the core and not the actual trigger for that. Whenever I see a "Assertion Failed: unreferenced server pipe handle" which is generally harmless, the crash handler attempts to dump a couple of gigabytes to `/tmp/dump/` and pretty much freezes my entire system due to the I/O load.

Is there any way to just disable the "crash" reporter?
