I wonder if it'll be possible to have the cims interact with each other, like two or more people talking to each other, or a couple holding hands. So far, every game of this genre overlooked those details, as if every person was a loner. I think it'll give the simulation a lot more depth and the cims to act more like humans rather than just set pieces.

It'll also be nice to have them interact with objects and props, like a person buying a soda from a vending machine, throwing their trash in the trashcan, or sitting down on a bench. Sure, the objects and props looks nice and fills the empty streets, but it would be great if they could be utilized by pedestrians, just so that they have a function and not just eyecandy.

And maybe have them react to things they see. For example, if there's a car accident (if there are any), people would stand around and look, taking pictures of it with their phones. Or if they see a crime, they call the police.

I hope things like these are possible. :)

The thing is, will there be crowded places where commerce is? Like real life?
Well, speaking that the game can apparently simulate 1 million people at a time, I would believe it shouldn't be a problem.
However, you have to think. In a large commercial area, what else are people doing other than shopping and walking from place to place? Maybe to enhance the sense of being crowded, people should also be doing things while their just standing, instead of always walking.
For example, have some people window shopping, or lean against certain spots on the wall, talking to a group of people, etc. All while just standing.

Walking in many different directions instead of just in octagonal directions may also help, too. Especially in very open areas.

With all the things said, I'm very unsure if stuff like this is feasible enough to code and program. I hope the devs really try their best to give such areas a feeling of life.

they need to find a middle way between performance and liveliness of the "cims".
I completely agree. I just hope there would be enough to satisfy.

This idea is mostly aesthetics. There's so much stuff they could improve the sims and the game in general in matter of gameplay that this details would fall in the category of "wasted dev time that should have been used elsewhere".

Well, of course there should be a solid gameplay. This is more for what should be done after the gameplay have been refined and finalized to our liking. Apologies for seemingly having an aesthetics-only mindset.

By the way, I noticed your great understanding of gameplay in general with your great suggestions for city policies in the other thread. So... high five ;)
