Anyone realise there are many games the US AI just sits there and does nothing, not even join allies?

I think there should be a Pearl Harbor event.

Japanese get choice of do it or not, and if they do it there are two outcomes, 60% of the time you get historical outcome (lose some ships for US) 40% of the time the US even loses the aircraft carriers and some ICs in Hawaii.

Japanese AI should pick attack 90% of the time.

If there is an attack the US will declare war immediately on Japan.

I think one problem with Japan is that event 10016 which switches the Japan AI to aggression in the pacific probably will never trigger because it counts on Nationalist China (CHI) no longer existing!

Event 2651 also does not exist and Event 10013 is triggered by it, thus the USSR never switches to it's offensive AI after holding off the Germans.

Sorry, I thought this event was with regular HOI but it it is in core. It's in the event file "fareast"

event = {

The 'Hull note' that Japan received on the 26th of November was regarded as an ultimatum that Japan could not accept and following a number of cabinet meetings, a strategy for war against Britain and the US was agreed upon. Plans called for the conquest of the Philippines within 53 days, Malaya after 100 days and the East Indies within 150 days. The neutralisation of British and US bases in the area was also a high priority."

I don't think so. The reason the Japanese declared war on USA historically was because the US placed a trade embargo on them, which denied them key resources. In real life Japan was strapped for resources but in HOI they have way too many resources(or not enough IC). Once you get Indonchina from Vichy France you are then self-sufficient in all resources except for maybe oil, so what's the point in going to war with the US?

We might have gone to war but there would be dissent. We would not have had most everyone pitching in. We might have not have won the war becuase of this.
Think about all the sacrifices the Americans went through, rationing food, gas, rubber, lumber, and what not. Working over time without getting paid. Gold stars in the windows of mothers and wives. All for a war that, exept for Hawaii and Wake, did not touch us. Of course the argument could be made that at some point we would have had a confrontation with Germany.
People would not have done all those things without someone 'hitting' home. Funny how history repeats. :(

Disagree, Japan easily runs short of resources, mainly rubber & oil, which is historical
