I find the responses in this thread pretty distasteful but maybe that is because I agree with the substance behind OP's post.

The first point especially, about the combat changes, I agree with. The devs changed a core system of the game without it being a notable area of concern for the community (if it ain't broke don't fix it). The combat changes dramatically change the playstyle for armies in EU4. To my knowledge no one has done enough testing to really understand what is going on behind the scenes, and I have little confidence that the developers themselves fully understand the changes or the consequences. We really need someone trusted like Reman to test and post results.

So I don't think OP's response is unjustified at all. These changes are coming at what is likely the end of the lifecycle of EU4. Many of us find these changes frustrating and simply unenjoyable. I have over 5k hours on EU4 and, personally, the changes leave me not wanting to play the game. I reverted to the previous patch but it it is still disappointing to not enjoy the more positive changes that are part of 1.33.
Honestly, I get where the OP is coming from with the complaints, and I partially agree as well. However, the title of the post does not cover/reflect these complaints in any way and comes across as what's basically half-cliché, half-meme at this point (the angry gamer 'I quit' post), hence the 'distasteful' replies.

These kinds of changes can work though. It's more about process/testing. EU 4 has a long history of it, though. I feel the same way about the switch to ZoC forts, which still doesn't work properly. Not "quit the game" over it, but that it was an extreme change to a core mechanic around which the AI and game systems were not built. To this day, there are still significant flaws with the system, which I've detailed elsewhere.

Other major changes were unit pips per tech group, creation of "primitive" status, autonomy, and completely reworking buildings (monarch point cost, ducat cost, interaction with development).

Some of these I consider to be functional-to-good mechanics, or at least better than those they replaced. Others have never worked properly since their inception.

But yeah, you can find quit threads like this on game forums that are very old. Such threads are probably not much younger than game forums in general.
