Peace and Treaty of God

Hello.

Sometimes, an event appears to me, saying something like "The Pope demands to follow the Treaty of God" or "The Peace of God". In both cases, the effects are like "The troops go home" or "Let the war finish". But nothing perceptible happens. It's not like "The heathen are disbanded, we have a chance for a white peace". I can't see anything happening when the Pope calls for the Peace and Truce of God.

Is it some sort of broken event, or it actually does something?

Well the war between you and your enemy should end. Though since it is a peace by event, your vassals (who might also be at war with him) will still be at war.

'Peace of God' and 'Truce of God' may fire for Catholics warring on fellow Christians.

'Peace of God' -- if accepted -- removes one regiment of both you and your enemy. Deny it, and risk excommunication.
It's pretty unremarkable.

'Truce of God' -- if accepted -- ends the war with one particular enemy. Denying again risks excommunication.
Note that if this fires for a vassal, the war with the overlord may continue.

Oh, it was "truce", not "treaty".

Perhaps I've noted the effects of the Peace of God, because a regiment driven by Sweden disappeared while coming to my lands and I wandered where did they go. But I've never noticed the effects of the Truce of God.
