So some us Game Directors have signed up to appear in a panel discussion about what direction we see PDS Titles going in. We have manfully risked all and agreed that we will try to answer some of your questions as well. We won't be diving into specifics that much, so wondering what the next release will be or when will be making title X aren't for this panel. If you are one of those people who are wondering what direction we are thinking in going in, well we will do our best to answer.

With the playerbase of Paradox expanding and many new players with no prior experience in grand strategy genre trying your games, how do you plan to respond to the growing need for tutorial/hint systems in complex games like yours?

With the constantly increasing amount of DLC for PDS titles, how might you make getting into the games less daunting for newcomers? Would you consider rolling “old” DLC into the base game, a subscription model, continuing to expand the existing DLC bundles that are on Steam?

Y’all have done amazing grand strategy games in medieval times, the enlightenment era, and space! Have you thought about creating titles that deal with grand strategy in other eras of history, such as 20th century America or ancient times?

Have you considered a subscription model where subscribers that want to contribute extra get all DLCs released in their favorite series and other perks like opportunities to interact with the developers or vote on future features they want to see?

What are you thoughts on making a more fast paced GSG better suited for multiplayer ( at most 2-4 hours for a complete game from start to finish ), or ways to change current GSGs to work better with multiplayer ?

Do you have interest in using ck2 type character system in different time period. Like sengoku. Creating a smaller more contained map and focusing more on the character side. Few ideas what have floating around the forums like a Mafia type game or be one in feudal France or HRE.
Or if going wild the game could start as "rpg"(still ck2 type thing not a real 1 or 3 person game) where you really a peasant toiling the land. You get meaby get small farm. Harvest good, Large family could send boy or few to get apprenticeship in city from a artisan. Or meaby try a church line. Then you could slowly climb the social ladder as generations go.Meaby by luck get one to become a squire.

Any interest trying and tackling a real supply system? Eu4 could benefit from more hampering of supplies as for now it's easy to live of the land for years. Large army would devastate a province if it stayed there for months. And not to talk about winter(Russian) also.

What type of mobile game(hopefully for a tablet game not a phone one) paradox would like to create. Buy in system or a free to play micropayment model. Use energy to send royal marriage. Want to buy 100 more energy for only 4.99.

Any interest trying modeling armies more in detail. Bit like March of the Eagles but bit more.

Any interest creating a "fantasy" 4x game. Well stellaris almost is but what would have a setting in planet/world scenario. Would give much more creative freedom when not bound by history.

Any interest trying population numbers in game Bit like Victoria but more in type of Eu4 mod MEIOU and taxes and their population system. One that grows when nurtured and takes damage when times are hard.

Any interest in trying to create a money or goods economy in game. Does not need to be in depth as victoria 2.

Any interest trying to model food in any game. Food is foundation of progress and cities. Like city of Rome grew food shipments from the empire. In eu4 you can grate massive cities in siberia(of course its bit more expensive).

When is Victoria's Secret getting releases date?

So my question is if there are any plans for PDS developed game using White Wolf IPs ?

  1. Has the experiment with Story Packs paid off? I mean, I'd love for all optional gameplay-related DLC to be country/region specific while main features are rolled out in free patches. It seems like such a better way of preventing what happened with estates and development in EU4, or retinues in CK2, etc.

  2. As suggested before, would you consider integrating old DLC's with core game mechanics into the game? Perhaps while compensating current DLC owners with a free story pack to their own liking or something?

  3. Is it more reasonable these days to think about an all-era encompassing grand strategy game streching from ancient Rome to modern times? Bookmarks could always be added to simulate start dates for all the previous games. I do wonder if those bookmarks would be used as opposed to the current ones.

  4. Are there more concrete plans of going into the life-sim genre? Or is this a bit too game-specific? :) I mean, since the Sims 4 came out, fans have been left disappointed.

Will you look into incorporating the changes brought with the Cornflakes patch into the earlier HoI4 DLCs? Those focus trees and events don't take advantage of any of the new mechanics. For example, maybe owners of both "Waking the Tiger" and "Death or Dishonor" could be allowed to start a border war with Slovakia when playing Hungary, as happened historically, after doing a certain focus. Or there could be infiltration or power struggle options in Yugoslavia, especially among puppeted Balkan states. Either way, I think Death or Dishonor in particular could use an update.
