Perm starts with a fantastic monarch and heir (6/4/5 and 6/5/5 off the top of my head). Hungary also gets great rulers from the Hunyadi DHEs, so there's the common factor.
I am fully aware of the godly rulers but it just ... well Perm doesn't seem like a good choice for a MP game ... especially if someone is playing with Muscovy ...

How is Denmark doing so well? At least someone put Aragon-France over Portugal's neck as a nice sword of Damocles, but Denmark just seems to be growing nicely.
Wiz is playing them.

I didn't say they were, was just explaining why AI Perm had great tech.

So Diplo tech increases global settler increase? Hum now Muscowy can get expansion first, integrate Perm, level diplo tech and swarm over siberia in a similar way as they can in 1.5?

EDIT: A_Spec said that Expansion was changed to be a ADM tree instead of a DIP tree in order to help colonizers. I assume he's talking about historical colonizers such as Portugal, Spain, England and France. Why did they need help? Was this change induced so that they colonize faster? I fail to see why this is necessary.

Settler Growth increases from tech. The default base Settler Growth was cut because colonization was too fast.

So as Portugal, choosing Exploration as first NI, getting 1st colonist, without leveling Diplo tech AT ALL, the only settler increase i'll get will be from the colonist himself?

It's +25 at tech 3, so you'll get some, just less than before.

I cant explain why it needed to be faster... But Multiplayer in general starts with a diplo idea and you don't even level diplo Tech until the tree is done (this means you are sometimes 8/4/8 in tech). With Colonizers you had to play a kinda back and forth between ideas and techs so that you can get your colonizer range/settler increase and such. With it being ADM tree means you can keep your DIP high and still move up the Idea tree decently quick.

Isn't Exploration better than Expansion, for traditional colonizers? (E.g. Portugal, Castile/Spain, France, England)

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes. The expansion change just screws over nations that can colonize without exploration-primarily Russia, China, Japan, and the Africans. It probably will effectively help the traditional colonizers by letting them take it as the second or third idea on top of exploration first. Be prepared to see even more ridiculous Iberian exploits...

Man i totally went blank in the head read expansion brain converted to Exploration... Only thing that makes sense then is for, you to be able to do Exploration first then switch to expansion. Since it is ADM instead of DIP it will allow you to not tank DIP to hard i guess..

Despite losing a lot of land Hungary has still kept her lead in the space-race.
