Hello everybody.

I just bought Amazon's great deal on a complete bundle, of all CKs. I was expecting to play it, but every single time that I lauch it, immediately it goes to a "Runtime Error".

I have already done several things, such as googling about the problem (no solutions whatsoever), reinstalling the game multiple times, reinstall the C++ Redistributable x86 package, try to find the Paradox Interactive > Crusader Kings II, but it's non existant; and none of these have helped me.

Once again, I cannot find any Paradox folder on my documents and on my whole computer, and I am starting to feel hopeless. That's why I can't post the logs that you guys usually ask...

I have already played this game before, but not on this current SSD, just on my storage file HD. I have manually deleted everything, but no results either.

I decided to check with the pros: do any of you guys have a solution for this? I used the forum's search engine, and no answer came out of it.

I annexed a printscreen, to help visualize the error.

Thanks in advance!

Just to clarify: Steam is able to launch the game properly, I open the laucher and I'm able to see all the DLCs, but when I click "Start", this error happens.

Once again, if I try to just run the game by the "ck2.exe", nothing happens.

I'm sorry for the double post.

You need to know that launcher and game it's two independent programs.
ck2game.exe - launcher only need .Net Framework
ck2.exe - game which need redists and directx.

I'll have to thank this forum... I have done a deeeeep search, and there is a topic that a guy mentioned that he inserted the "userdir.txt" with the new path proposed for the files, and it worked. Also worked for me.
So, as a future tip to guys having this problem of not finding the Paradox folder and having runtime errors: create a "userdir.txt" in the steamapps > commom > Crusader Kings II, with the path to the folder. It'll magically make your game work!

Thanks everybody, if it's the interest of the moderator, this topic can be closed.

*I'm sorry ShX, I ended up not answering your question: it's Windows 7 64-bit

The problem in this thread should no longer be an issue, if you are patched up to date. But to use the userdir.txt file option, see the sticky thread above with "file locations" in the title.
