Ever since I first started playing, I've had a bug where if I used anything other than the escape menu's message settings button to change message settings, I risk an instant runtime error crash. Before, it used to be semi chance-based, or so it seemed, with more odds the more frequently I used it; don't know what it was actually based on.
I just started running some mods and now it's nearly guaranteed a crash if I don't use the escape menu's message settings button, and that menu doesn't seem to be actually saving all the choices I make there.
Has anyone encountered this before? I've tried searching the forums but all I came up with was people having runtime errors on bootup. I can run the game fine, it seems, aside from this, but the message settings are a pretty big usability issue for me.
