This is why i am going to buy "standard" 1920x1080 next - expect if Oculust rift changes things, or something else.
What resolution do you play at?
I'm on 1920x1200 and the only text that looks god awful is the policy text. Everything else seems fine.
Also, if you dislike the AA, I recommend reading this thread http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?842082-SweetFX&highlight=sweetfx Sweetfx can do wonders and causes very little performance loss.
Edit: Actually reading through it, it may not be clear for somebody who isn't familiar with SweetFX.
Here is a quick tutorial:
1. Download SweetFX (64-bit) from here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4581604&postcount=528
2. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines or wherever steam has installed your copy of Cities Skylines
3. Open the .zip file that you downloaded from the link above
4. Copy everything into the Cities Skylines directory EXCEPT FOR THE SweetFX_x64 FILE
5. Open the SweetFX_x64 file in your .zip viewer and drag the 3 files into your Cities Skylines directory. Select "Copy and Replace" when prompted if you want to replace the files. Close the zip file.
6. Open up SweetFX_settings.txt which you just dragged into your C:SL directory.
7. Scroll down until you see "SMAA Anti-aliasing settings" (it is not very far from the top)
8. Change the values in this section to be equivalent to these :
#define SMAA_THRESHOLD 0.05
#define SMAA_MAX_SEARCH_STEPS 64 // 32 also works well
#define SMAA_MAX_SEARCH_STEPS_DIAG 16
#define SMAA_CORNER_ROUNDING 25
9. Save
10 (Possibly optional, I'm not sure). Open Steam --> Right click Cities: Skylines ---> Properties ---> Set Launch Options ---> input "-force-d3d9" into the box (no quotes)
11. Start the game, disable Anti-Aliasing in the game settings.
It should now look much better than it did previously with less of a performance drain.
