PC game resolution too high

So I recently purchased a new PC, and already had a problem with CK2 (directX not installed, now fixed).
But now I have another issue: the game starts with a resolution of 1920*1080, and it's so high that I can't see the option menu to change the resolution, in fact, I can't see any of the menus...
What to do? should I change the resolution by editing it in the settings.txt, and if I do that, what shall the new resolution be?

Well, I'll be going out on a limb here, but I'd suggest setting the new resolution to your monitor's native resolution.
Which, btw, is likely also your desktop resolution.

Well, it seems that 1920*1080 is the monitor native resolution, because I just tried launching EU4, and it worked just fine with that resolution.
The game must be upscaling the image wenn it shouldn't be...
I don't know what value to enter for the resolution, maybe trying something like 1080*720 will do.
Now that I think about it, the different options for game resolution should be the same in CK2 and in EU4.
