Re: Super-fanatastic PBEM rules
I'll start with this part. I like the idea of some type of team competition. It should be even teams so that would mean six players. However I think we would have to go to 5 year turns, which is the least amount of years per turn that is doable. If we go this route then Gezeder should be invited to play. I think we should each pick one country and stay with that country and not switch to different countries but we can talk about it and maybe someone can change my mind. I think we need to agree about this part before we decide what countries to play.
I like the idea of holding certain provinces/cities to get points. The point total would have to be an ongoing thing but shouldn't be hard to calculate. It could be something as simple as whoever holds Rome (and other cities to be named) gets x amount of points per turn. These point-generating cities can be scattered around the world. Do we have to actually own the province or just capture it. Obviouly one requires you to conquer the enitre country whlie the other just lets to capture it. It might be difficult for the others if one of us has annexed it.
Edit: I suppose a way around this is whoever conquers the province can just make it a vassal. That way anyone can still conquer it and get points.
However if we're not careful with picking the cities we will end up in another colonization type of game. Maybe the point generating cities should mainly be in Europe and the Middle East? Ludovico has done a good job of starting to put together this idea.
On an unreatled note I will be gone the week of September 9-15th. We can still start before then but I wanted to let you know that I'll have to skip my turn if it comes up then.

The pbem would consist of 6 players (I assume we could get another to join - Gezeder?). 3 players in each "alliance", with the turns rotating back and forth between the two alliances. Each player in the alliance chooses the country he will play when his turn comes up, but he is not restricted to a set country throughout the game, only to the countries available in the alliance (thus getting to continually switch between the different countries in the alliance to give help where it is needed, etc) Each country can only be chosen once per Round.
Points will be calculated at the end of the game, based on the following scheme.
