17 Dec 1945: with the objectives in Europe fulfilled, such as Lugano, North-East, Dalmatia and the control of Gibraltar, it was time to focus on expanding into Africa.
On that day, war was declared to claim back what was belonged (and well, there is plenty of oil despite the game does not know it): Libya.
At the moment, Tripoli was alone as the Ottoman Empire fell under the revolution consequenting the defeat against the Arab axis while in Europe there was the Franco - German war.
Three landing corps of 7 divisions were prepared (7 was the maximum allowed as I reached the maximum doctrine at the time): one for Tripoli, one for Benghazi and one for Tobruk, which were the main objectives in order to declare mission accomplished)
19 Dec. 1945
The first corp to land was the one assigned to Tripoli
While Benghazi was incredibily found free of enemy presence, in Tobruk there was a trap: after the landing, our army was immediately attacked
After the landing was complete, however, the Libyans immediately surrended
26 Dec. 1945
After a week of fighting, Tripoli was secured, but the Libyans - a lot of them veterans of 1911 - opposed a great resistance
It was however useless - the first colonial step was a success for Italy
Extremo anno (I forgot it last time!)
Initio anno
21 Feb. 1946
After 3 months of direct administration, it was to decide what to do with the new conquest - the lessons of history were learnt: it was better to establish a local administration, under Italian control, with tasks of police, rather than direct integration. It was the birth of the Italian North Africa
12 March 1946
The peace traty signed with Austria two years ago expired - this led to new scenarios
23 April 1946
The alliance with the German Empire was not renewed - with the expansionist aims, German help was not only useless, but also a risky "we give blood, they take"
A new bloc - the Mediterranean co-prosperity sphere - was born, instead
17 May 1946
The first step for a revenge of what happened nearly 30 years ago was taken - war against Austria, now with the aim of marching on Vienna and Prague
The first step was to cross the Alps
