For God's sake stop changing religions!

I know the long range effect makes it attractive but your going to be putting down revolts for the next few years. Earlier you wrote

"We can only purchase MAYBE 2 strength points in each of the 5 armies per year at this time. We are in a very dangerous position right now. "

What do you mean 2 strength points? Just a little confused about this. Enjoying your AAR and hope you can agree on what religion to be.

Hehe thanks Joe. Like I said, I'm trying it on for size. Actually, the revolts I'm suffering are maybe 2 a year, and 1 is always in the Highlands which has a refinery which automatically negates the revolt each time so it hasn't been bad at all. Currently I just completed 1560, am at peace and Elizabeth I is around, stability is +1 again through 2 'Good Govt Policies', the treasury is magnificient, and the fleet actually got 9 new warships from 3 explorers in 2 years I received. I decided to keep them in Southampton because of the dangerousness of the situation, 9 freebies was nice.

Right now, Highlands and Lincoln just converted to reformed, there is no revolt risk in the Isles anymore, the fleet is producing it's 40 warship in Southampton, and the plan is as follows....

1st priority, build the fleet to 50 (not enough I think, but it's adequate for now). Following this, the new colonies in africa are going to all be converted to cities, and when I'm not doing that I will be building Naval Equipment Manufactories all over the Isles. The plan is to be done with the reconstruction period by 1880 which is 20 years from now. Perhaps I'm too much of a stickler for preparedness, and I don't like being minimally defended as I am, but this will change assuming peace remains. I'm think in terms of 10 or 12 manufactories, once complete the economy will be staggering. The entire east coast of America is colonized and there are trading posts deep into the Appalachian Mountains. Leone and Table are now British colonies in Africa, there are 2 others that are in existence too on the west coast, I want to make them all cities if I can, but at least Leone and Table. Should be fun...

Oh, the 2 strength points, I meant by that 2000 troops to each force. I was hoping to increase the size of every force every year but the French War interrupted that.

The 5 forces at the time were London, Calais, Ireland, Tunisia and America. In addition I was adding strength, however slowly, to the fleets in London, Southampton and Tunisia, but once again the French changed that. The fleet in London is the transports (trying to get that to 3/0/25, currently is at 0/0/8)

Now, the main fleet needs to get to 50 warships which is to be the Channel force, but I would like 2 more 25s for Land's End and the Straits of Dover when that time comes as well as a Tunisian and American fleet. Given enough time, maybe in those 20 years I speak of, I might just pull it off! I won't be offensively capable unless I can get another full-strength army in England, this is last on the chopping block.

Plan is ultimately to have the English forces look like the following:

London - Army of London (50000/15000/50).

Bristol - Army (20000/10000/50) Transport fleet (3/0/25)

Plymouth - (25/0/0) Southampton - (50/0/0) Dover (25/0/0) fleets.

Ireland - Army (20000/8000/20)

Tunisia - Army (20000/12000/50) Fleet (25/0/0)

Philadelphia - Army (15000/5000/10) Fleet (15/0/0)

With the south coast of England as well as London and Bristol fortified maximum.

But, until the Naval Manufactories are built it will be just minor expansions to home defenses...hope it works out
