An idea, for those (like me) that would ideally like a REAL pause control, if that would entail something major (though God knows i can't imagine what):-

As I understand it, current 'Minimum speed' or "Bullet-Time" option is 1/10 normal. This is unacceptable to me, as I'd only be playing this in SP mode and would need to be able to stop and recommence perhaps a couple of hours or more later. But if the game speed could be slowed to something much higher, like 1/1000 or more, that might work.

You can just press ESC if you don't care about giving orders? In SP the menu acts as a pause function.
You can also save skirmish matches (not sure about the campaign) if you don't want to waste energy on a fairly inefficient room heater. ;)

I would also like a pause function, but it has been brought up in other threads that it is an engine limitation. AFAIK it cannot be done with the current engine they use, same reason you cannot rewind replays in the viewer.

I got that impression from reading other threads... but what I was asking was, "Is the minimum time-rate moddable?" Corollary: "If not, why not?"
