Number one deficiency, this applies to all the Paradox games I've played. There should be a pause key. Not the current pause/unpause, but a key that pauses the game, and has no effect once the game is already paused. Sometimes game lag causes the user to press the key multiple times, and he ends up unpausing it. Sometimes the user hits pause but a millisecond before his keypress registers there is a popup+pause event, causing the game to pause, and the user's keypress becomes unpause. Very annoying. The pause key should be simple to implement, and there can be an option to select between pause and pause/unpause behavior, so implementing this would not change the game in any way for those who like the current pause/unpause. I can't see why this hasn't been done years ago. Please do this. Please.
On the Outliner, would it be possible to select which armies and fleets to show? I'd like to see the armies and fleets I'm manually giving orders to, but not see fleets with orders to protect trade, or newly created 1000 strenght armies and 1 ship fleets, waiting to be combined into a larger army or fleet once all the units or ships have been constructed. Or perhaps it would be possible to have a fixed order for things on the outliner, with battles and sieges at the top, not at the bottom and getting scrolled out of view when new units are constructed.
There should be a warning flag for ships suffering attrition and not having any orders.
