anyone played Orthodox since 1.5? Patriarch Authority event frequency got nerfed WAY too hard. It can take a whole game to get to 100%. Its not like piety that you can get from warring heathens and heretics. those events are the only war and they are way too rare. I play 100% PA so my playstyle is hurt when I'm stuck at 10% for centuries.

I only play an orthodox nation (byz) with the console for fun when I have an hour or so spare, but it does seem like PA events are happening less often with this patch.

I didn't really play any Orthodox nations prior to 1.5, but I'm doing a Byz game and I've had 9 or 10 between 1444-1510. I rather regret not taking the plus PA options on the first 4.

Russia is one of my favorites to play. In all honesty, I think it's really the only nation that's in a position to utilize the benefits of high Authority to convert the Tartars, etc. It does take some time, but I'm not that unhappy about it. I'm usually more focused on Novgorod, reaching the Crimea, and poking my finger in Lithuania's eyes to want to heavily focus on conversion of the Muslims. So long as you have cores and get Tartar as an accepted culture you won't need to bother with conversion until the later 1500s+.

Just for some perspective, it's 1502 in the game I'm playing right now and I'm at 45%.

I did a Muscovy game recently and got to 100% fairly fast.

It does seem to happen less frequently. In my Georgia game I figured that Orthodox minors just don't get the event as much as major powers like Muscovy and Novgorod, but nope. No one is safe from it.

So, it turns out that the 5 events that change Patriarch Authority are randomly chosen from a long list of the random bi-annual "positive" pulse events. I guess it's just chance. You should see one these events from that long list at the end of December and June each year, I believe.

I am in 1580 as Serbia... only 30% authority, and I always said yes, aka only 3 events since 1444

Russia is one of my favorites to play too, now 1569 and i have 65% PA. Hope to reach 100% soon, and get the achievement)
