What I mean is, your men might be impressed if you lead the initial cavalry charge. But I doubt anyone would hold it against you, if you stayed on the hill as a wise commander and led things from there.

This is assuming you have that kind of control over the battle.

Hm, this could be an interesting dilemma for elderly monarchs who take younger wives because they need an heir (and Ferdinand needed an heir rather badly, as I recall...) :D

Edit: at the time of his death, his two grandsons, Charles and Ferdinand, were already acknowledged as his heirs. However, it caused no small trouble when Ferdinand, who was being groomed to rule Spain, was sent to Austria and the Flemish Charles took over instead. :)
