Thought I would leave this message for anyone who purchases EU from CompuExpert in the United States and tries to patch it to version 1.10. I originally downloaded the North American patch but got an error message indicating that EU was not installed on my computer. Some hours later after finding the EU forum I sifted though the old posts and figured out that the version being sold by CompuExpert is the Benelux version - 1.07b.
Seems odd to me that a U.S. retailer is selling the Benelux version but the patch took and successfully upgraded EU to version 1.10. The CompuExpert version is a stunning deal - CD, jewel case and black/white manual (no retail box) for less than $7 U.S. I expect a number of people have bought the game at that price and are going to begin the patching journey I just finished.
Congrats to Paradox for a great strategy game with real depth.
