I am reading it as 'tomorrow' so when I don't get the patch notes tomorrow I can come to the forums and write lengthy, rambling complaints about it.

It's "trademark", Blizzard Entertainment like to say it a lot for their games when announcing things that are coming very soon, but are not too sure when.

There's a some unit packs. Someone posted a thread awhile ago showing the info taken from steam somehow.

Considering the patch notes tend to be:

1. Dishonest
2. Incomplete
3. Revealing features that are unpopular and unmentioned until the notes

It's not shocking that they draw ire, especially when they've done every single one of those things for several patches in a row.

If you read TMIT's words closely, you'll find that, in the post you quoted, he is speaking generally of previous patch notes, not proleptically of this upcoming one.

I read what he said, I knew that (I can read after all :laugh but I still anticipate the usual regardless of what comes out.

Sad thing TMIT is not even wrong... There is always a huge gameplay change that Paradox sneaks into the patch and tells nobody about which ends up making everyone mad.

I am not sure where it originated. I remember a timeline I saw on several of Blizzards forums years ago. Here it is:

"Very Soon" is guaranteed to arrive between now and the end of time with a higher chance of arriving on the "now" half of the time table. Although this means closer to now than "soon" there is no guarantee that you will live long enough to see the content finally release.

That should be the good ol' times even if it is merely 5 years ago.

It's not that people want the patch notes to come out like that, or that people want the expansions to fail. We all want the game to succeed, and Paradox to succeed at bringing it to us. TMIT himself said as much in other threads.

After WoN and the 1.6 release there was a lot of trust lost. A lot of people were excited for it, and it was a fail of an epic kind. Then, a lot of the issues that made 1.6 not very fun weren't fixed until 1.7, even though we were told long before that they were fixed in house and we had an open beta that wasn't getting those updates. Sure, we hope for success, but no one wants to get themselves excited for a failure, and a lot of us feel the same way as what TMIT posted. Don't misinterpret that to mean we don't want Paradox to prove our skepticism unnecessary.
