:D I've been a bit pre-occupied with work and then I took a vacation to visit some WoW guildies that got married and just had a baby.

You were the first person I thought of when I read that specific addition. It's likely this 'player only' decision option was an easier choice than trying to balance the threat/neutrality mechanic globally to a degree where players could rampage as a minor but not jack with the AI's choices/behaviors. Frankly, I think it's fairly clever. If i'm not mistaken, decisions are modifiable so players could mess with the numbers as well, I think; I get a little overwhelmed when I open up those files. In the future I see the AAR thread exploding with demonstrations of players (dictators) marching their drafted, peasant, bucket and pitchfork minor nation army across the globe, or at least a continent or two.

- larger hull size now make disengaging from combat more difficult in naval combat

I thought FTM was producing longer surface battles already but with less casualties, very interesting, now those large ships can't slip away as quickly. Starting to wonder if the surface groups will be able to land a few shots onto those carrier groups.

I don't remeber where the thread was, i'll explain it a bit :

A HQ will auto retreat when engaged in combat, but will trigger the "no movement cooldown" which can be reduced by a land doctrine, thus delaying the advance of the attacker, without any cost for the defender. Just pop a bunch of HQ and you delay the entire ennemy army at virtually no cost except some IC in manpower and some officers, if you decide to dedicate some IC and leadership to it.

..so, basically, it's like having Highway Maintenance Crews creating 15 mile traffic jams by the usual crack strategic placement of a grand total of 6 traffic cones on a four-lane interstate for the sole purpose of collecting 12 empty soda cans on the median while cutting the grass with nail clippers...

Has any consideration been given to fixing the day/night indicator on the minimap? It still hasn't been changed to reflect the change in seasons (is stuck in a northern hemisphere summer with constant long days for the nth hemisphere and short days for the southern hemisphere).

Also, the Australian politicians are still wrong. As posted ages ago, the Aust head of state is wrong (and is also wrongly used for the Australian head of govt instead of the Prime Minister after 1939-40). Isaac Alfred Isaacs' term ended in Jan 1936 (at the beginning of a 1936 game) to be replaced by Alexander Hore-Ruthven until Jan 1945, then HRH Prince Henry (younger brother of King George VI) until March 1947.

The list of heads of govt (prime ministers) should be as follows:
Joseph Lyons - to April 1939 (died in office)
Earle Page - 7 April 1939 to 26 April 1939 (caretaker PM)
Robert Menzies - 26 April 1939 to 28 Aug 1941 (forced to resign due to loss of support. Also should be unavailable to UK as politician in this period.)
Arthur Fadden - 28 Aug 1941 to 7 Oct 1941 (appointed leader following Menzies' resignation. Resigned as party had lost support.)
John Curtin - 7 Oct 1941 to 5 July 1945 (died in office)
Frank Forde - 6 July 1945 to 13 July 1945 (caretaker PM)
Ben Chiffley - 13 July 1945 to 1949.

That wouldn't be so much modifying the weather system, but adding a rotation system into the game. If you want it to be accurate it's slightly more complicated than you might think.

Anything about hitting the Support Party spy mission with the nerfbat? It's far, far, too effective. As Germany I was able to, after 1 year, annex Austria and bring the NS part to power (over 60% popularity, 50% org) in Romania, the US, France, and the UK. In 1 year. And all those nations have a 0 pop 0 org NS party at the start of the game. That is way overpowered, especially since the AI won't support their own party or counter my spies (this a bug too maybe?).

Well I don't "have" FtM yet - it crashes instantly when I try to run it, haven't figured out why yet - but as someone who usually plays france, in SF, you're basically overrun by spies and there's little you can do about it. Perhaps this is why the AI is so pathetic at defense. The neutrality and national unity requirements to adopt laws that would give you even a fighting chance to root them out are basically impossible to adopt, except possibly near the start of the war in a '36 scenario if you've played your cards right. I'm not yet sure how the complete overhaul to the neutrality system has affected things, because under vanilla or SF you had to use your internal spies to lower neutrality to gain higher economic laws or you'd be raped by germany. However, is it possible that the AI is simply looking at the fact that the measures to defense aren't likely to work anyway, and therefore allocates leadership in other areas? Again it's not like france is swimming in leadership either. I've had my own government flipped once under SF - there wasn't anything really I could do to stop it (not that under SF it makes any difference). If a human player has very limited tools to defend in this area, and on top of that, the tools really don't work well either, I just can't see the AI doing any better (much worse is ofc more likely).

It might be nice to be able to do something about the fact that the 30's equivalent of the DCRI seems to be completely staffed with inspector Clouseau's. Because it's pretty frustrating to be hit with a tactic you literally basically can't counter.

- Mobilised nations at peace, are unmobilised when game is saved and reloaded.

As Germany I made the mistake of saving the day before going to war (danzig or war). Took a break and reloaded and went to war .... only to find out almost my entire army are at 50% str/org because of this bug. Sometimes I wonder why I bother ;p
