Completely. The game won't even try to load a 1.11 or earlier save in 1.12. This has been said multiple times over at least the past month, possibly longer.

As always you can select playing beta on steam, and revert your whole game to whatever "final" patch you wish: 1.9.2, 1.11.4 (the oldest is 1.4 IIRC)
