Patch 2.7.0.1 CTD

I rolled back my patch to the next to last one so i could play the satanists before the heavy nerfs, yet, the game will not load. It crashes to desktop every time, even though i have no DLC or mods enabled, as far as I know. Can anyone speculate about why this might be?

Are you trying to load an earlier save file or did you start a fresh game ?

If the former, well very probably you will have to start fresh in 2.7.1. then.

If the latter, then the installation might have failed.
Comparing checksum (BPAH for 2.7.1) in the main menu and a verify integrity of game files in CK2s' Steam properties would be first things to do then.

You see this in the launchers DLC and Mod tab and can select or unselect them there, but unselecting DLC should not be required at all.

no no, im playing on patch 2.7.0.2, not the latest one. However I have a bug to report. Patch 2.7.0.2 will not load unless i first delete C:user/documents/paradox interactive/CK2 . If this folder is present, the game will CTD at the paradox interaction screen. However, its playable now...

to reiterate, i have to delete it over again every time i want to play.

Ah okay.
There was 2.7.0.2 indeed before 2.7.1.

Control its checksum .
For 2.7.0.2 it should be WHCB.

You can see it once in the launcher at the top and in the main menu bottom left.
These can be different.

If only one of these has a different checksum right after start, then you should do a reinstallation,
which is more or less always the first option anyway.

Please tell what you get as checksum.

To clarify:

So the issue you are reporting is not about loading a save file, but to start the game from launcher
when trying to play the game a second time ?

Please be specific as possible in your error describtion.

In 2.7 i recall isssues with gaming apps like Evolve or MSI or whatever and disabling those helped.
As well that Direct x and Visual c++ reinstalling helped some.
Just like a full and clean reinstalltion helped some, as it always does help some.
