- Siege assault battles now use the Melee combat values on the troops instead of the Skirmish combat values.
What's the logic of this, might I ask? After all the other skirmish nerfs this seems pretty severe. Why would anyone want skrimish troops now? They're weaker, and no longer the best troops for sieges. Now Heavy Cavalry are the best siege troop in the game =\

It probably won't...
Lulz. In that case the next DLC had BETTER add in empire management mechanics, or this game is going to be broken for a while.

- Archer - Maintenance increased to 2 (up from 1).
- Archer - Skirmish Attack reduced to 2 (down from 5).
- Archer - Skirmish Defense reduced to 1 (down from 3).
While I'm happy about the Archer nerf, isn't that too much? With those the Archer is going to strictly worse than the Light Cavalry during the Skirmish phase (same attack, same maintenance, worse defense).

As I asked elsewhere- how will the Mongol Empire's breakup be handled?

From what I understood through Dev diaries, Nomads don't have loyal subjects and one of "vassal clans" can just decide to go independent either because he decides that he dislikes his liege or because the liege made a demand he decided to not accept. And even if the liege beats up the vassal, that vassal might just take their things and migrate somewhere else.

As time goes on, the clan populations will grow so the liege will have to split them creating more and more clans that might decide to rebel... and if a big clan rejects to split, this will probably cause a schism.

They're still *slightly* cheaper than LC (2 vs 3 in maintenance), but otherwise you're correct.

The more I think about this, the more baffled I am. If PDX thought that LI (and Archers) were too powerful in retinues, they could have just increased their maintenance, which would have made their retinues more expensive (per cap), BUT more importantly left the Pagans alone.
