Patch 2.04d Info

Some questions regarding 2.04d
1. I take it that this patch follows the usual practice in that you dont need to have 2.04c etc first.
2. Are there any potential problems we should look out for
3. where my HOI3 came from a store my SF came from Gamers Gate, so I should get 2.04d fr4om GG?
4. What basically is the content

1. That is correct - you only need the latest patch. You could also add the 2.04e hotfix.
2. I haven't had any - just make sure you've got the correct checksum.
3. I have the disk HOI3/ GG Semper Fi and use the beta patch from Paradox since I prefer archives to .EXEs. (much easier with multiple MODs )
4. The changelog in the download thread covers most of this.

Thanks for that info just a couple of questions from a computer idiot.
1. I thought I saw in a thread that with the HOI3 and Semper Fi from the places we got them it was not recommended to use PI.
2. What is the correct checksum

the correct checksum is AJBM

People have their own way of doing things. Select the method you think will work for you.

I've got a clean install of Semper Fi 2.0, make a copy of it when needed and add the appropriate patch. I haven't had to uninstall/reinstall the game at all this way. If there's a problem I delete the copy and make another one

make a clean reinstall. for further information take a look at tech support.

Thanks once again for the extra info. I tried to copy SF its in my "downloads" I right clicked to bring up "copy" etc. but clicking on SF did absoluely nothing. What am I doing wrong

Install the game first then make a copy of the game folder.

THis I think is where my limited knowledge of computers is showing itself. SF is installed as when I click to play HOI It is now the SF version. I am now therefore unceretain what the next step is. One thing Im learning more about my computer playing HOI than any tech. course lol

Ad 2: Some problems emerged with 2.04d though. Mainly graphical glitches with 3D sprites and even several cases required renaming music folder to be able to even run the game (including myself). See tech support forum for 2.04e hotfix.

First create a new, empty folder - call it something like games. Make sure it's not located in Program Files if you're running Vista or Windows 7

Next, go to the folder where the game is installed, right click on the folder, and select copy.

Navigate back to the newly created, empty folder, right click this folder and select paste.

It should then start copying the game from one folder to the other, which might take a while.

When finished, patch the copy - keep the original installation as a clean backup.

I've installed 2.04d and get the checksum AJBM but my launcher tells me this:

The latest version released was 2.03b and already have it installed...

Is that a bug or a feature?

I suppose it's 'feature' as in 2.04d is still a 'beta' and not released as official patch (I kind of though it would have been by now, but that seems to say it's not...)

it is, its some bug in the launcher news list. as long as it shows the right version ingame you are ok.

Thank you podcat. Then I'm not concerned anymore. Another question: Is it recommended to install 2.04e beta hotfix? I'm somewhat worried about the word BETA.

You 'n me both sledge. I must say that reading the forums I get quite nervous about any update as there seems to be many problems, and someone like me whose computer knowlede can be written on the head of a pin with enough room left over to accomodate most of the old testament wonders if it is worth it! perhaps now having SF I should be saisfied?
Many thanks to you guys that have sent valuable advice though, I'm certainly learning. By the time I'm 70 I might get a job on the Paradox dev. team.

Great mod, i really like it. espessialy al the new units like the motor torpedo boats and the twin enige fighters.
I'm not sure if you do requests but i have a few small ones I really like playing as Holland and would like to see some more unit names and pictures for them.
for example, holland had a good ''twin engine fighter'' called the ''Fokker G1'', and an intercepter design on the drawing board called the ''fokker DXIII''(wich was supposed to go very fast 550 km/h) some fictional ''what if'' designs would be awsome to. anyway I could look up some pictures if that helps.
