I expect you simply will not be able to grant any more counties to mayors.

The four changes are a fix to a common tactic of making your entire realm archbishoprics and republics to get more income and stability.

Very bad change IMO. Instead of rebalancing the republic and theocray vassals, PI decide to limit their number. I believe they also forbids us to "create neighboring county tier bishops". I'm not really sure what it means, but it sounds really bad to both moddability and gameplay.

The neighboring county thing is probably done so that bishops don't create duchies by themselves if you gave them enough counties.

The more I think about this change, the more I hate it. I like to do relaxing playthroughs with republics and archbrishoprics once in a while, even moreso for keeping de jure duchies in line than for the opinion boost... I dunno, it's not like anyone was forced to create them, they were like an in-game difficulty slider for me. *shrugs*

The change was probably necessary, but it makes CK2 just that little bit less sandboxy for me.

Does this mean that we can effectively neutralize the "must not marry an infidel" restriction (e.g., allow Christians to be tolerant of Zoroastrians, thus allowing marriages between the faiths)?

I think can_marry has to do with consanguinity, not religion.

No, they didn't nerf bishopric at all; it is still as strong as before. Only now, inexperienced players cannot use their mediocre trick any more, but witty players are still able to exploit bishopric in a more effective way. This is one of the worst changes in this patch.

Surely witty players don't need exploits at all. Besides, if you want to make the game easier why don't you just mod some of the numbers.

I for one like the change for added immersion. It was very weird for me that feudal lords were able to create archbishoprics. That should be the domain of the pope.

It's just abstracted ingame. Feudal lords also couldn't create Bishoprics. It just mean, that he could land a bishop. Like the Archbishopric of Cologne was landed in this time.

If it were up to me, it would require papal aproval to create bishops, but I guess I'll have to do with what they did for now.

If you cannot enjoy the game without using exploits, then there are always console commands left for you.

The definition of "Foreigner" is a person of a different culture, right? Won't that just make civil wars even worse, since you don't get any opinion boost unless the warleader is a foreigner? ( MY vassals are usually MY culture). Especially with these generational civil wars(As someone recently called it). EVERYONE hates you after you inherit the throne, which means NO levies, NO army. Why not let there be some carry over relation in the early years if the guy who recently died did good, and people liked him?
