Whatever happened to 1.4? It has completed vanished from the radar. Shouldn't it've been released by now or?

I'm curious as well. The latest beta patch is almost 2 months old, and while it plays much better than 1.3, I do believe a dev mentioned the official release was coming in short order. Maybe it's been postponed for AHD?
True, Johan did when he posted the last beta. But he said at the time that the official 1.4 would be almost the same as this beta. For me, this long delay means that the Devs may be more ambitious than expected for this update.
or Paradox just run out of human resource to handle formal release of patch1.4, especially when an expansion is coming. This is not the first time Paradox had a long delay for a patch. They did the same thing in EU3. I must be lied if I saying I could live with this. I end up with giving up buying any expansion pack of EU3 since HTTT.
As for Mac users, a formal release from Paradox is the only way we can get patch from VP. I'm tired of liquor issue in version 1.3 and stop playing Vic2 since then. If Paradox still keep this kind of patch policy, I can do nothing but stop buying their games.

Yes, but for EUIII, they had not announced the official patch was about to be finalized.

I'm sure they're working on expansion now and have no time take care patch1.4. I won't even expect any "more ambitious than expected" patch1.4. For me, keep it at beta stage, so that Paradox don't take the responsibility to fix problem caused by patch 1.4 . They just make a excuse for themselves.

Mac user here too. I don't care much about issues with 1.3 but most if not all multiplayer games ar being played with 1.4b (I read it solved some OOS problems).
The lack of an official 1.4 release is penalizing Mac users since they cannot join multiplayer...

They released EU3's HTTT patch very close, or at the same time, as DW was released I think. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the same happened here.
I wish 1.4 would be out soon - as a Mac user I can't run beta-patches and I've got a few bug reports I'd like to file, which it seems I can't do without the latest beta, unless I am mistaken.
I'm talking the long beta stage of HTTT patch 4.1b. Paradox release beta 4.1b in 12/22/09 and formal release 4.1b in 11/18/10. Mac users wait for almost 1 year to get HTTT 4.1b.
Paradox also take risk to lose business from Mac users, which is a growing group nowadays.
For your information, Football Manager from sega had provided Wondows&Mac version at the same time for years.
Sega only release formal patch. Most important of all, they won't take 1 year to release formal patch.
The current beta has some pretty game breaking bugs in it. It was supposed to become official if there weren't bugs, but the changes made to province occupation are pretty badly bugged. You can instantly get 99% occupation by exploiting them, and even if you don't, occasionally the AI will.
Excuse me for my ignorance, but why can't Mac users use beta patches? If the game uses all the same files and directories, then shouldn't you just be able to extract the patch over the current files?
Hopefully, the developers are fixing some of the hardcoded bugs before they release the final patch.
