If a territory has your culture and religion, it should have the coring cost of an oversea colony. This should apply to home territory as well you've lost. No expolitd either because you can't change culture on uncored provinces of wrong religion.

This seems like a good idea. Perhaps basing coring costs on culture and religion is a good idea, but then what about all those German minors that have the same culture?

Size penalty on coring is now reduced by about 0,2% each year, down to basically 0 at 1800.
0.2% per year out of the 5% penalty per extra province? That's very nice.

Coalitions will now always join in a war; there is no truce penalty breaking if a coalition is called in a defensive war. AI cannot decline warleader alliance negotiation
What about offensive coalition wars? Will they suffer truce-breaking penalty?

'Enemy of my enemy' relation now ticks up over time #eu4 1.2 patch
Very nice and logical.

Taking a province now only destroys the highest level building of each type. Unique, manuf, and level 5 & 6 will always be destroyed. #eu4
Honestly, I never understood why level 1-4 buildings are now destroyed upon province ownership change when EU3 Divine Wind didn't do that.

I would really like for non-overseas colonies to have same costs as overseas. Particularly for Asians or Russians colonizing Siberia without having to cheeseball vassals exploit.
Also for American tribes. It is crappy to have to move your capital to south america, colonize north america. Leads to some arbitrary splitting of your country so that south and north America are not contiguously connected

If a territory has your culture and religion, it should have the coring cost of an oversea colony. This should apply to home territory as well you've lost. No expolitd either because you can't change culture on uncored provinces of wrong religion.

I hope they listen to this suggestion. I was trying to think of how they could get rid of that awful OE for colonizing as Russia (because its quite annoying) and this is it. I dont think the cost should go down though, because a province in your home continent is worth a lot more than a province overseas, but as it stands it is too much imho

All buildings except uniques and forts got destroyed in EU3 too. You're misremembering.

IIRC what you are remembering was not the case up to and including HTTT. I never played DW, so maybe it's that?

And even if we're misremembering, there were fewer buildings in EU3. And road networks etc did not get destroyed.

EDIT: By "uniques" do you mean the EU3 manufactories - universities, refineries and stuff?

EDIT 2: And a question to Paradox: Have you considered granting access to TI after a certain tech level, as was the case in EU3? Because in EU3 you could at least switch ideas (at a stab loss, IIRC) and get conquistadors and explorers for a while, whereas in EU4 they are engraved in stone.

Easy fix for the German minors; If the province has no cores[claims don't count], is your religion, and your culture, the coring costs are much less.

I'm a bit lost, and I think I must have misunderstood. Where can you find a OPM to annex that has no cores on its province?

Exactly this. I always spend most of the game post 1600s doing everything I can to avoid fighting coalitions, not because I can't beat them, but because it takes a stupid amount of time and effort for so little gain. I would have no problem with coalitions if we could actually extract concessions for winning the war proportional to the amount of effort it took (such as being able to peace treaty with individual coalition members), but it's just not worth fighting a world war for 2-4 provinces and 100 ducats.

I fullheartedly agree.
Coalitions are incredibly silly due all the small things that add up.
Not only can you get a giant alliance, 'easy wardeclarations', but also the fact that you can NOT sign individual peace treaties. The latter is pretty much the worst part of it all.
The only way I could sometimes manage coalitions was to smartly let them peace out at different intervalls so they would have a truce. Now with the new changes it pretty much means that you will always be i 10-15 year wars for f all.

If they would just fix the last part (being able to do seperate peace deals), I would have absolutely no problem with coalitions whatsoever.

The HRE really, REALLY doesn't need to have easier expansion. It should be nerfed to hell and beyond.

EDIT: whoops. I saw the problem. Yeah, that could be a decent solution.

At least early expansion as a OPM is quite difficult because the AE racks up quite quickly. That said, I think what I said seem reasonable enough, as integrating right culture, right religion provinces is far more easy than the opposite. For example, as Poland, Bohemia forces you to give up a province and next war you revoke the claim on the Polish culture province.. shouldn't you be able to get that core back at little cost when you reconquer, since it "belongs" to you?

The point is that this would be meant to prevent the various HRE OPMs from getting colonial coring costs.

Hmmm. OK. I see Ulm wishes to rise again!

Another question: Is the trade direction switching fixed?

You can already get cores back at no (AE) cost with the reconquest CB. Since it "belongs" to you, it's not aggressive expansion, just taking back what is rightfully yours.
