Is there any chance that in the 1.2 Patch, we will get a chance to unify China and have the territorial claims to do so? That is to say, Nationalist China and Communist China both have cores on all of China's Provinces. Historically, both of them claimed to be representative of all of China anyway so I'd assume it might be good if they at least have cores on all Chinese Provinces. I know that this is technically easy to do by editing the Province Folder but adjusting 689 Text Files seem a bit tedious. :(

Of course, if they do have cores on China, I can imagine that their relationship would deteriorate rather fast and would consequently push both of them to war which I believe is more accurate historically. Of course, if Japan were to invade, then they can settle for peace first to confront the common enemy.

Just to add my two cents.

It would be very helpful to improve the labels on the map. At the national and regional zoom levels, there should be some sort of map labels (e.g. country names on the highest zoom, and city names and even regions labeled in the regional zoom). It would also be nice to have labels persistently on -- personally I'd trade slower scroll movement to know where I am on the map.

What I would like a lot is:

--CG bug, but everyone has mentioned this.

--The ability to manually load many divs into transports, instead of doing it one at a time. (If there's a way to do this in-game, I haven't found it.)

--In the vein of the above: Div weight should be a "top" interface number, and easy to see.

--A "Move" order for the ai. Defend/Prepare doesn't seem to work. ("Something like, "move all the divs/hq you have underneath you in the vicinity of these objectives". ) I simple select all ---> move order leads to excessive stacking, and giving Defend/Prepare orders doesn't always work.

--When I pause the game, sometimes it automatically unpauses every time I click in my organizer. I can't find anything for this in preferences, and it makes it very difficult to rearrange my army sitting in the UK while I have air battles going on.

--When issuing Air battle orders, land zones turn green to indicate that they're covered. Sea zones don't. They should.

What I want in a future patch, but don't expect right away:
--More events. At the top of my personal list is a way for Churchill to become PM from the '36 start, but I'm sure everyone has their favorite.
--A way to see your relevant Practical value on the production screen. (ie, if I have a DD build open, I would see my current practical in addition to the practical gain I would get building it; this can be as part of the tooltip.)
--Someone mentioned licensing of more advanced units of a type you can already build, this is something I would like a lot.

Great news about the 1.2 patch.

In the meantime I am having a blast playing - using a mod to Civil Laws for everybody that reduces peacetime CG - not perfect but it works well enough for me to play and learn all of the cool things to do in HOI3.

Two things I'd like to see:

1) Japanese AI improved. I'm playing Nat Chi and they are getting ass kicked because they backed off prior to war. The war caught them off guard.

2) Maybe not next patch but I'd like to see partial AI control on the different panels. i.e. Production screen has multiple mini sections. Ideally each could have AI take over, instead of all or nothing on the whole screen.

the single fact that when you are building a unit you cannot see whats it made up off in the production screen (no float when you hover over it) - its ok when you have 2-3 units - but when you will have 10+ it will be chaotic - not to mention that in the redeploy window you also cannot see what brigades the unit consists off - thus its hard at times to remember where you wanted to place the unit....


+1 I always seem to guess wrong about where I want to deploy a division becuase I can't see its brigade makeup

May I suggest mpore beta testers in the future? These issues (performance, CG, weather, etc.) would easily have been caught with a few beata testers. I own 9 different PI products and this one shoulld not have been released yet. I know you guys come through in the end and fix up the games but still.

I love the game, but in the interest of a more enjoyable user interface, two more suggestions.

1) officer sort in ledger not only by skill, but by skill and experience both.
2) ability to click (doubleclick, right-click or whatever you please) in the ledger and go to the commander on the map (and his unit), this way you can easily remove his current assignment, and free him for the next assignment.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and wanted to ask what this hotfix is supposed to be for that is released today (8-10). Is that an official or unofficial patch?

I am also having terrible performance issues which gets worse and worse as the game progresses.

I set my antivirus software to ignore the HoI 3 folder and it appears to be loading much quicker now.

Yeah, saw this one with the demo... Went from 6 mins to 3 mins.

Final game loads even faster on the same machine.

Please read what I have writen. The complain was that HoI3 plays very unrealistic and far from historical, it don't feel as a WW2 game. The AI have to much freedom to play very unrealistic, this is stimulated further with a very inaccurate map creating more unrealistic (AI) behaviour instead of guarding the realism that exist in the real world.

The so named freedom in the game mechanism ruins the game pleasure for a more serious player who thought he has buyed a WW2 simulation instead of a WW2 fantasy game. A high degree of unrealism has also occured with the EU3 vanilla versions. These issues are later solved by releasing two expansion packs before EU3 was finally called complete. The need to buy supplementary software before you have received the complete game, that is where I am talking about.

Paradox already officially (as these forums go) stated whole thread that MAP REMAKE IS ON PLAN, but it is gonna be long time beacuse it involves MAJOR remaking in many areas of game,

I am already an older person and have seen and used many tricks of the trade during my live. Because that I don't believe that Paradox have the intention to remake the map for free. I am certain that the planned map corrections are intented for a future expansion pack. Serious commercial compagnies use always sales tricks, I have no problems with that if, from the other site, there are also no problems when people express their thoughts about that.

.. so there are far more urgent priorities for now. So maybe instead of writing posts with ill-hidden nasty accusations (I believe that these are resolute sales tricks)

Ill-hidden nasty accusations you say? Where in my post did you read a judgement regarding sales tricks? May I understand, regarding your reaction, that in your opinion sales tricks are an example of bad behaviour?

maybe first check what has already been written, asked and/or answered? ;) No wonder people can't find their way around here when everything is at least 1000 times repeated (of course its hyperbolic) :)

I am glad to see that the Developers are working towards improving things, I think this game has the potential to be a great game which I could play over and over for a long time to come...with a Modern War Expansion possible (another topic)...

I have been playing since release (obviously) and here are some things I believe the developers should take note on, in order of importance :)

1) Performance! - I am not running a state of the Art PC nor a hugely out dated one, though performance for my (3600 Dual Core AMD, 2 Gigs RAM, GeForce 260 GTX) PC is just painful. It seems to run "ok" when paused obviously, but the lag when running at higher speeds as the game moves on is just mind numbingly painful. Saving the game and restarting once in a while does help some but still. :(

2) AI Improvement/Fix for unit placement under a HQ - Why will 3 Divisions under a HQ be all grouped together when you set the AI to control (i.e. defend, etc) but the remaining division in half way across the map?!? Even when you move it manually and then reassign the AI to control, it moves it back half way across the map?! This is just nuts! :wacko:

3) AI Improvement for Automatic Assignments/Objectives - If I have a HQ with 4 Divisions assigned to Attack/Blitz a set of Objectives, I expect them to actually try to do it. Though what I see it more times than not, at least 1 or more Divisions will just sit there and go to a spot that makes no sense. i.e. if I set an Objective of "Defense" of 6 Objectives to a Army HQ with 3 Army Corps, I EXPECT all the units/Divisions to move to those locations or at least NEAR them to maintain defense, not sit 2 or 3km away doing nothing.

3) Division/HQ Assignment (more of a wish list) - a more visible chart assigning Generals to Divisions, etc and Divisions to Corps, etc, would be great. Example, a Flow chart with Available units you can set the hierarchy and see/modify like a Family tree type Structure in which you can also see the Leaders Faces, names, stats, traits and assign Orders through. :)
