So it may be in terms of gameplay, but as a member of the Russian culture myself, I find it incredibly strange how Muscovite, Novgorodian and Ryazanian cultures are considered to have the same level of diversity as English, Scottish and Welsh, or Castilian, Portuguese and Basque, or Danish, Swedish and Norwegian. I'm no historian (though I did bother to do some research before posting this), but while there certainly were noticeable differences, they were hardly as drastic.

How about French, German and Italian culture groups?

Anyone knows what are odoyev ideas?

National ideas.

didn't read whole tread is it available to download cause i still got 1.15 t_T ? also i bought preorder mare nostrum on paradox and still didn't recive cd-key someone had similar problem ?

It's not out yet.

In my opinion this new culture-group system is just strange and unnatural. Would be better removing culture groups completely and replace them by another system instead of creating these new fantasy culture groups.

I have not yet managed to figure this out, so perhaps the great people at paradox or the community can help me out!

The states you pick, can you decide to colonize (say canada or eastern seaboard) new world as a european power and make it your state? And can Portugal make Madagascar a state if it took the island?

I'd also like to add that you guys spelled Madagascar wrong under "new national ideas" :p

The patchnotes say that there's a define to disable the AI cheating on forts. Since I have never edited the game and don't think I should go fiddling with files completely blind, I'd like to ask if someone had a fairly good guess as to where that bit what needs editing is going to be?

The way I understand it that yes - you can have stuff in a colonial region as a state, but it's gonna be super expensive (since distance to capital influences price), and once you have five provinces (state or territory), a CN forms regardless.

Portugal should be able to make Madagascar into a state, but again, it would be quite expensive and probably better off in a Trade Company.

Time to read some scientific papers? Here's a good one:

A. M. Sakharov, "Rus' and Its Culture in the Thirteenth to Fifteenth Centuries,"
Volume 18, Issue 3, 1979

Besides, the travesty of Flanderian culture should be fixed first

Truth is that while the original Seljuk Turks kept their Altaic traditions, the Ottoman Turks, represented by the "Turkish" culture in the game, were essentially Byzantified Turks, seen as different by their Azeri/altaic cousins. Indeed in mid-Ottoman times the connotation "Turk" was used derogatively, reffering to the uneducated semi-barbaric villager of eastern Anatolia, instead of the proper Ottoman of the Asia minor coast and the European possesions.
The Seljuks didnt keep much more of the Altaic tradition then the Ottomans.
And like it was said before Turks and Azeris are the same nation just because Azeris were Shia and for a long time part of Persia (which they ruled by the way) doesnt make them a new culture.
Its like putting Austrian in another culture group as Bavarian......
