Past 1953?

Pardon this questiong if it has been asked before,

but is there anyway to increase the end-date of the game to beyond 1953?

Just try the no-limit patch for standart HoI 2, that should work.

It is in the DD manual that the game will not end at the end of 1953 if there is only 1 of the 3 main alliances left. Page 62 I think.

I think DD dont have an EXE time limit, if chemphys post is right as well, im sure you can simply change the end date on your savegame (you can do it on the Scenario files for all new games you play for now on).

His post is illogical if true. If there's 3 out of 3 alliances left, it makes more sense for the game to continue than if there are no competitors left. What's a more interesting game? Germany vs SU+USA or Germany vs... partisans in a grey world?

OK. Everyone, the No Time Limit patch for HOI 2 doesn't work on Doomsday, and changing the end date in the scenario editor doesn't work either.

I just checked my manuel and it does state on page 62 that if two of the three major factions are eliminated by the end date you can continue playing.
Does seem rather illogical.

And don't even think of using the editor under any circumstances - bad, buggy problems there.
