Part of my realm is... independent but udner my control?

As the title says, part of my realm is idnependent on the map, but still mine .

Here's the story:
I'm duchess of brabant just conquering slowly some land and having fun, then I press all my claims against Flanders, who is independent. I finish the war (meanwhile a revolt happens which I am part of against my liege, king of Lotharingia). Then I finish my war versus Flanders and boom. Brabant appears in place of Flanders under my control but not part of the HRE? Idk how I managed to do it...

Can't provide screenshots, sadly.

Flanders: Independent on the map under my control (says Brabant on the map)
my other territories: Part of HRE under my liege.

Sounds like they became your tributary. That shows on the map as them having your country's name on them instead of their own (even if your realm isn't independent).

Nope, I control all top holdings directly right now except Gent which I seized during a revolt that Flanders erupted into.

That's... very peculiar I think. Downright odd, and while I think many would appreciate CK2 having such behavior I don't think it's WAI. Are you sure you can't provide saves or anything?

Its a mod save but sure:
all mods included + mod save game (place both folders under CK2 folder in documents then launch and check all mods except byzantine reforms)

What I think happened is that your revolt liege is technically a duke with a temporary king title. When your war finished and you gained an independent duchy title, the game decided that you can't be a vassal duke under a duke and boom independent.

Okay, finished the revolt and indeed Boodas is correct, as soon as the revolt finished Flanders became part of the HRE. Too bad otherwise this would had been very interesting

Just Print Screen and paste the picture to Paint and upload the picture on some site dedicated to that, like Imgur.
