i would like to see concept of parking as it can add more complexity to the game and let it be more realistic and fun and we has already seen parking on streets in the game play videos and i hope it isn't just some graphical interface

adding parking lots and centers be in the game it will be great as when u add parking centers and u can just ban parking on roads and thus having wider roads

a factor can be added to commercial buildings which is parking like if there is not enough space for parking in specific place this place satisfaction decrease

also a policy can be added as each building being built should contain its own parking space and this shouldn't be a problem for large cooperates but will add more expenses for low-end cooperates thus decreasing low-end cooperates satisfaction

Yeah, parking is a big thing in lots of cities, and it should be in the game too.

Yes i would like to see some Park and Ride slots that you can build as town near a Train or other Public transport Station but in the Video it seems trainstation already have Parkin Places and some roads too so thats a good beginning.

There should have underground parking in office and apartment complexes for the people who live or work in those places. They should pay a monthly fee to park there. Which goes into tax system for the city. If they can't afford the monthly fee for parking their vehicle. There's other forms of transportation like the bus, taxi, train, bike etc.
Of course for the out door parking you can always charge hourly rates for temporary parking from those parking slots that are available.
And when a parking lot fills up the no vacancy sign goes up. Jobs could be created by having a parking meter police and attendant for those who break the law . The closer you get the downtown core or main event area the hourly rates goes up.
What a perfect tax grab for the city for an everyday use and when there's an event going on! You set the rates !

Parking isn't that important. It's fine if you put some graphical parking in on driveways and supermarkets, but I don't feel it needs to be a full simulation. It could just be a general state for what time of day it is/ how busy the store is.

Why would they pay taxes for parking in the offices? We don't do that in real life, so why in the game? Also, your propose if way too complicated, haha. It sounds like a separate game about parking :p

But I do agree it would be nice to have some parking system, if not a simulation then at least something for "decoration" to make the cities look more realistic.

The only revenue city gets from parking is street parking though right?

Meters and parking tickets.

Parkades are usually private companies who pay taxes through generated revenue. So parkades would be blue zones.

I think there are also public ones. Like the ones next to train stations, etc. The rights to running them might be auctioned to private companies though. However, there would still be revenues.

I'm pretty sure the video stream on simulation mentioned that they had been trying to do parking garages but found it hard to work out in the actual simulation. Not sure what the difficulty in making parking work would be, but apparently it's not as easy as it sounds. It would be nice though.

In Chicago about a good portion of the price of parking in a lot / public Garage goes to the city as taxes. So in the downtown core it might be like $25 to park for the day but something like $5 or maybe as high as 30% goes to the city (the rules are kinda complex).

I think that once a city gets skyscrapers there needs to be parking garage structures as most office buildings do not provide parking for their workers if they are in a major urban area (where hopefully most people take public transit but not everyone does).

They could make parking a slight requirement. Like you have to have at least some parking lots/garages and government can earn income from them. If there are too many buildings/residents and no parking lots, citizens start to demand for one, in a locality or so. could be residential and industrial area.

it should also depend on the type of area. if you have a strip mall then it usually has its own parking. If you have more of a commercial area in a downtown then there is usually only street parking. The city manager will need to decide if you should provide more parking or better mass transit. The last tough thing to determine is if you want things like Bikes (both motorized and human powered) to be factored in as these take up less space in traffic and less space to park.

I would think Bikes would make a nice DLC (well of course would be great to be in the game, but being able to add bike lanes, bike rental, bike parking, policy choices around gas tax (which would increase public transit and bike demand.
