some of the discussions in the general forum have been about paratroopers being too strong and so forth. would changing the surface defense and air defense of their transports and possibly the range make using them somewhat less of an exploit to use.

i've never used transports and para's. do transports get shot down by enemy fighters and if so do you loose some or all the para's onboard?

If the Transports get intercepted then they usually only take a little damage and you can always retreat them.

The problem is that you can use Paras again and again in rapid succession to take large amounts of terriory in the enemy's rear.

Fed 3.2 made them much more expensive to produce which is one option. Another is to make them lose Org a lot after a drop but then they would lose most fights.

I personally only use them to do a couple of historical missions (like Crete) and after that just have them on the front line.

their maybe a few other ways to limit the use of paritroopers first it could possibly be made so that enemy aircraft would have to be defeted in order for them to jump and to make this harder lower the attack and defense of the trasports to force the player to escort the transports with fighters.

the second is to inflict casualtys to the paritroopers when mthey jump something like 25% percent or so this would slow them down because they would constaly have to be reniforced which would then drop their orginizational values and if they are cut off from supplys then the player must send them all the way back to a province that is in supply if they are to do any fighting. Also it could be set up so that they lose more in certin terrian types such as forest when we all know they get stuck in trees

both of these options are historically too though the 25% loss rate is a bit higher then it really was
