I researched paratroopers, yet I can't build any. The option is not there. It says if I research paratroopers that unit will be available. What's the deal?

Never seen this before. You are absolutly sure you researched Paratroopers? I ask this because I have used Paratroopers myself and from the bug reports we get so too do a lot of other people.
Perhaps you are still researching paratroopers (have not yet finished).
ALSO, take note that Paratrooper units are built by a seperate icon in the unit-construction screen (NOT as a list option under any other type). It should appear somewhere below the Armor icon, near the Marine, Mountain, and Militia icons (if you have these).
